This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This is definitely deserving of a Highlighted spot.
Definitely can't get enough of looking at this wallpaper. It's clean, it's crisp and it's fully made using Illustrator. Great fusion of ideas and excellent execution of 1337 walling skills.

It took more than I planed as I had very little time to spare here - too much party and no sleep =_=
Plus due to a disk scratch 8 hours of work were lost so the project was kicked back T_T
Total Time: N/A, Character Vector: 126 Layers, Bground Vector: 74 Layers, Total .ai raw size: +200MB
Everything turned out quite nice basicly because I vectored Yohko from a scan and not a screencap ^^
In case you wonder, this is Tokyo as you can see the T-tower, Mt. Fuji and Ginza double decker \m/
Thnx to the pplz who gave me ideas on the bground in Session Zero *treats RedBull and blue berries :3*
Particulary: tAte for buildings tips, ShiNN for mountain objection, Dias for the bus stop idea, Furi for
text correction, MC for gravity-wind tip and Kenzuke for the brush I didn't get to use in the end X3
I will be back in London and on-line in a couple of weeks, hopefully without any terror trouble n_nV

and the perspective is really nicely done wit the plane hovering in the right side, making the illusion even cooler
the mountains are cool too
I just dont like how the petals blend in a little wit the clouds, making it seem as if its a cloud thats moving vertically @_@

Now this is a really good wall paper...the bright colors are...just right for this wall... the art works nice too... and the girls very cutie... like an everyday eye catcher... i love it ^ ^ !

To start off, love the clouds in the background. They're just so cute, you really want to just fly up to em and hug em. The blimp is adorable as well and a cute add-in. Fits as well and doesn't look out of place unlike some other walls I've seen where wallers will just copy and paste in a horrible addition to the wallpaper which is supposed to enhance it but just ends up killing the entire thing. Ditto with the airplane, it's cute and I love how you incorporated the text as well. Also, love the buildings and mountains in the background as well. Unrealistic, but cute how you added the snowcaps. Adds even more variety to color scheming of the wall. Street sign and pink double-decker bus is also awesome as well, of course. The flower petals are cute though the only thing I'd ask is where they're coming from? Can't really see a tree nearby... And rofl, is that the eiffel tower? I could be mistaken, but funny how you'd see it in a place where the street sign in Japanese. Lol ~
Next, the scan. Nice choice ~ Background just fits perfectly- texture, style, color, and all. And not to mention how the color of her ice pop matches perfectly with the double-decker. Haha, cute keychain on her bag and bandaid as well. Like everything else in the wall, cute ~
Overall, you just did a really nice job with the entire thing and the colors are just crisp, clear, and percise. Something that would really just catch your attention at first sight and keep it there. I'd love to see more walls from you. Keep up the awesome job.

you are amazing... it looks like it took you so long to finish this... one question... did you use pen tool or did you just freehand everything with a tablet? i see people using both sometimes but im just curious. your strokes are so 'free' that make me think that the pen tool was not used much. i only use it for hair and eyes since i need sharp ends and stuff; the resy i tend to freehand it with a costumized brush. ok im ranting... awesome work!

Although the subject is a bit too "loli" (or should that be lolly..? O_o) for my taste I really appreciate the work that must have been put into this wallpaper. I love the colourful background and how it fits with the character.
