As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Well, basically, the story goes like this: I had the render with Raito and the shinigami guys in the background, but I didn't quite know what to do with it. So I started from scratch and experimented with different combinations between the fractals I'd rendered in Apophysis throughout time. It still looked plain, so I added in some clouds, messed around some more with the blending effects and got something relatively decent. It was still kinda empty however, so I brushed in some text [which I later figured would be a nice representation for human laws and such, and given the composition of the wallpaper, it shows that Kira is above them XD]. Then I added some finishing touches in Paint Shop Pro and that was that X-P

This wall lacks depth. It's exactly how you made it- Render and Clouds + splat of extracted scan. To give it a better sense of depth and blend the scan better with the BG, don't make the outlines so obvious on the scan. Feather the outside or duplicate scan and overlay the top while blurring the bottom helps. You can PM me or leave a note on my userpage for more of that.
I can't create renders so I won't try and give pointers on that... But it's flat. 0.o

I like the background but it could definitly use something more than the scan in the foreground. You've got the bg nailed but when it comes to a wall, I'm usually looking for something that reflects more in subject than looks. Maybe you could have the text encircling him but not necessarly overcoming him.
Nice color..it gives the right dark side of Light ad those Shinigami. and i gotta say i love what you did to the background.. good job!! keep it up!and keep the spirit of Death Note! LOL wat am i sayin? ^^;

This wall looks really nice,it has good colors and good organizing,however ,maybe the clouds are over-done and makes this wall not that hitting..
