This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Thanks to `Shikonxx and me wanting to celebrate my one year anniversary at AP I decided to finish this wall over the weekend while studying at the same time for my exams.
This wall is just the beginning is all that I got to say.
Concept: Ghost In The Shell
Made in Blender 2.42 - a lot of hours.
Learned a few more tricks and things about Blender while making this. Hopefully the Blender community will be proud of my work :P
Enjoy! And comments good or bad and favs are welcome!
Don't forget two resolutions: Wide Screen 1920x1200 and Standard 1600x1200 resolutions!!
Woo Im cool enough to be in your wall descript :D
Anyways, lol, the wall is awesome, I love the 3-D-ness.
Reminds me of like a car-making assembly line thingy, :P
Hi there...
wow this is your 50 wallpaper..! cool man...
well this wallpaper looks really well done.. the perspectives look awesome.. and the 3d work is great... although it's not the kind of wallpaper that i love.. because i'm more fan of landscape themes or funny and romantic ones..
anyway i need to see this one cause it looks like a really good job...

Great wall! Reminds me a lot from the doll construction in Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex =)
As some people already have pointed out it feels a little empty, would have been nice if it was one long line of vertical dolls behind the closest one ^^
Keep up the good work!
I'd say more on global lighting, object meshes and material types. the wallpaper looks kinda dull imo due to the colors. if you had put more lighting also the characters seems like ghosts there since there was no reflections on the floor but the word section 9 has em
Well your overall work is very good, but as a Ghost in the Shell fan, I've got a few things to point out.
Firstly the way the "shells" are made is a bit inconsistent with the Manga and Anime, where shells are made in solitary areas - you never see more than one shell in the same place, suspended by a single piece of machinery (the only place where I've seen this is in the Android and I episode but even then each shell has its own "base"
Secondly, I've got to point out that section 9 doesn't make its own shells. They buy them from some highly specialized company (megatech, I believe it was called). Also the "Shell" and "Section9" writing on the left wall makes it seem like its in the lobby of the place. I doubt that bodies would be made in the lobby, and the workers obviously don't need to see the name of the place they're working at.
I'm also having a bit of difficulty with the method that the shells are made, and the fact that there's loose wiring on the floor kinda makes me unsure about the clenliness of the place.
Another minor point is that the the wallpaper overall is a bit drab, but I understamd that as a shell-making facility it needs to be surgically clean and that means unadorned, smooth, white surfaces.
I have a bit of a suggestion for improvement, though. I think it would add to the autonomy of the place if you lined up shells on the right, flowing off into the background in an infinite line, and have machines on the right working on them, but you can add a bit of color to them, such as red lights or blue or green tubing/wiring. That would certainly add to the autonomy of the place and make it seem like its a facility that's churning out many high-quality shells.
Now, all that aside, you did a fantastic job on the wall itself. You evidently expressed your skill as a 3D waller, and I must say, I'm impressed with your prowess. Work on some little things and you could be an absolutely stunning 3D waller. I have to add this as a fave because the skill that it takes to do something like that is beyond my capabilities
This is the only wallpaper that i had to glance at twice! im really surprised at this work of art! this is a very nice wallpaper. im adding to my faves so every time i log in i will have to look at my screen for about a million years XD
Cool!.. this wall is really deep :D .. You can really feel it just by the first look .. the walls around the place might need some work to make it less blocky and shine xD .. but over all you have a very intersting style ^^ .
but what with you and Ghost In The Shell :P .. i hated it when i saw the first couple of episods but then it got better :) , im at the second season now lol but i stoped to watch kenshin :P .. Bake to the wall xD .. its really a nice wall and a cool style we dont see alot in AP :) .
Keep up the good work :) .. +FAV .

Holy hell! This is way cool!! I'm very impressed! Although you never cease to amaze me. This wallpaper is very well made and it's also a very interesting concept! I would like to see one in 1280*1024 for my computer, cause it's freaking sweet!
You have to be the coolest person when it comes to making unique things such as this.
The idea is fantastic, but the background scenery is a bit dull.
Maybe it's me but the dolls on the sides could benefit from reflection on the floor?
Again, excellent idea...
