As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

This wallpaper was pretty hard to create, because it has a vector trace worked into the background.
The background was done in Bryce 5, Ai Amano was done using Adobe Illustrator CS2 and the composition was done by using Photoshop CS.
The hardest part was of course the girl herself. It took me about 60 hours to trace almost all parts from a scan found in the scans library here on AnimePaper. Thanks to a vector tutorial I read lately I think I could finish the work on her better than I thought.
The main problem was of course: how to create a wallpaper that the fore- and the background do intereact with each other?! So I simply start doing things I like and experimented a lot. Then I watched the episodes again and came up with the idea of putting some clocks into the wallpaper. But all clocks I found were in a really low resolution... so I vector traced two of them aswell.
The final and most difficult part was how to put them all into one simple and nice wallpaper. I hope at least some of you like it (that is if this wallpaper got approved). I like it and - just to let you know - I have it set as my background for now like 3 days ^^
edit: I wonder why I didn't fix the strange resolution of 1600x1214 to 1600x1200 a lot earlier :?
Well, a really nice background... it gives out a relax and comfortable feel on it... and there is a nice effect for the clock you have done in the wall... it looks great! nice texture adding by you too... anyway, nice work! :)

This is a very unusual image for Ai. In fact, it looks more like Moemi to me. But the colors are beautiful, and the composition is very well done. The clocks are perfect for Ai, highlighting her mortality. Good work.
