After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
OK, for this one I found this great vector, then integrated it into the background which I created in photoshop, this involved making all the individual leaves and creating the shadow vectors.
I had a version of this with the blurry leaves falling that were bigger, but I think I like it better more plain since that's a bit cliche.
Do you think I need text or do you like it how it is?
I think the vector looks great, but the leaves could definitely use some more texture. Not necessarily blurry...just thinking finding a texture of granite or something, and overlaying it on top at a really really low opacity...or something. lol i'll trust you to make it look good. But yeah...thinking it could use more texture.
Of course, my idea could be completely wack, but just see if it works or not. I think it's fine without text. You've filled up the wall enough with the characters.
and lol I just noticed how Haruhi doesn't really have shadows, except around her legs, except they're in the opposite direction as the shadows cast by Yumi and Mikuru. XD

Hi there..
well first of all i think you need to give credit to the vector creator... so that we can see his work :P
secondly i think that the characters are not blending well with your background... cause they seam like floating in there... the interaction between the characters and the background it poor.. you have just added some leaves... maybe some grass coming between the leaves can help you with the blending issue.. cause you can add some grass a make it goes a bit over the characters...
and i don't think that you need a text... the images are too big.. and fill the wall enough... so there is no space left for a text ^_^
hope this helps you
wish you luck!
kisses..

This is a very nice paper, placement wise, but when it's set over the leaves, the colors seems a little bit dull. Try making the colors more vibrant to allow the characters, especialy Haruhi, to stand out more.
I do have to agree with clarings, though. There could be more interaction with the charaters and the background. It also seems that you might want to shrink the characters a little. For some reasons, it seems as if they were crammed into the paper.
The vectors were good, but you might want to play arond with the paper in general.
You've definatly made a good start. I agree with the comments everyone else has made so far as well.
Another way you could make the background interact with the characters better is to change the leaves so that they are less transparent and more solid. I think the transparency that you've given them gives it so much depth that it makes the characters look as if they are floating.
Sorting the shadows underneth the characters should help too. Esspecially around Haruhi (which as already been mentioned), you need to remember where the light source is coming from. Also it might be quite nice to make the shadows a bit more jaggedy, sounds a bit wierd but it'll help make them look like they are laying on the leaves and make it look more realistic. Maybe finding an image of someone else laying on leaves with a shadow will be a good referance for you to see what I mean.
Good luck with the changes once you've made them you'll have an awesome.
Thanks for all the replies guys, I think Haruhi's shadows are correct, but I will take all the other suggestions into consideration. And of course for the final wall I will credit the vector maker.
Noooooooo I was gonna make a wall just like this! Same pic and background idea!! Aughh!!
Sorry. I know it's not your fault. I'll just have to work on something else!
Hm, I think it looks pretty good. I know the shadows are part of the original scan so I won't say anything about that...texture on the leaves is a great idea...everything's pretty much already been said! Good luck with this one! *Goes to sulk in corner*

I like it. I'd add some textures and maybe shadows to the leaves but it's really nice and very autumn spirited. The girls are all nice and clean, very good work on them. Maybe you could try placing the title, really nice flourish lettering, on the lower left corner tomake it fill the whole. since the weight of focus is on the girl's faces, or you could centre up them more to the left that woudl fix the problem, good luck!!
I like it and it seems like a good start. I don't really know much about creating wallpapers but I do know I don't really like how a few a the leaves have a black stroke on the outside, which you cant really see when looking at a lower resolution, but they seem to stand out to much to me when looking at the full image. Other than that just a little more texture to the leaves like others said. Good Start!
