I think you did a nice job with this. The Sakura Tree and the Sky look quite nice in my opinion. I also like the rays of light. But I think the wall looks abit too plain, it might just be me though.

WoW You did awonderful job, to me the cg and everything looks good but it could be improved somehow. Like you said the sakura really looks kinda fake, so try to re-do it. Also I think since you have a sakura tree in the picture...shouldnt their be sakura petals falling throughout the picture? I just think a gust of wind and some sakura petals + A few larger ones in the foreground, a few on the character a few i the distance etc. give it depth it will make the wall seem more alive ^-^. Gj so far but could improve, hope I helped PM if needed
Good scan and idea, but there are some small details, for example the ribbon on her hair looks odd on some parts, maybe a bad extraction or if you cg-ed there are some parts where the line goes too bold, also for make shadows you can use the burn tool, instead of a gradient that make them look pretty linear. Nice first wall actually...

Wow...I love the background, it's so nice! The school looks fabulous and the I love the sakura too ^^ You did a great job on creating the scene and the quality is really good too. Good job, keep it up!
I think Saber meshes very well with the Sakura Blossoms in the background (doesn't look "weird" at all, to answer your question ;), and the Sky and background building are nicely blended.
Some suggestions, though:
* The Vector School Wall & Gate are a cool idea and the perspective is spot on. However, it's so sharp and blatantly vector that compared to Saber (traditional anime shading, colors and drawing style), it stands out too much.
Try adjusting the sharpness on the Walls & Gate, play with some Filters, etc. and that way, those elements will come to enhance and complement Saber instead of being a foil.
But that's just minor stuff (^_^;; Overall a really Fun Wallpaper! Good job! (^_^)/
