This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
As soon as I saw that picture of Atem in the 5th YGO opening, I HAD to wall it. (He's so sexy!) So I vectored the lines from a crappy YouTube screencap. (Fortunately a little while later I found a better quality one.) As my second digital painting wall, I learned a LOT while making it, and improved as I went along. (Which is why I left the most important/noticeable stuff for last.)
I combined the close-up screencap of Atem's face with the scene, and had to sketch in the details for the upper crown, and draw in the earring. It took me a few months of on-and-off work to finally get this done. I'm so glad it's over. >_>
Whoa! I thought that must've been difficult! This is very cool though. O_O I can't believe you painted this. My sister definately faved this wallpaper. I like how you were able to make the paint smoothly.
At th same time I think that Yami (Atemu) has a very dark skin colour in here. I think you need to see some other screencaps when the pictures were a little brighter. Still I think that's alright that way.
O.O wow. at places it looks like 3d. at other, it looks like real hair. dude, this is up there. just up there. godlike technique. and so different. so fresh. and from a screencap. you're insane... x]
Great painting job~ the quality kinda reminds me of the oil painting hanging in our dining room
I don't know anything about YGO though ^^;;
you're on livejournal? what community is ptdc?
Wow everyone is suddenly into the painting style now - and good at it too!
Excellent job, I can tell there's a lot of effort of time and effort that goes into this with all the details and working off screencaps is never fun either.
Captured the expression and pose very well, as well as the shiny armour and the hair details.
You did really well with the colours I must say, everything seems to be of the right colours and shades, which I think isn't that easy to do (and I suck at it >_<)
Congrats, nice one!
Now go back to that walling board and make another one for round 2 AP v World challenge! XD
