This wall is my entry for Vectorness March Monthly Challenge: Mecha Month.
Since this time's topic is Mecha, I chose Tachikoma as my model. ^ ^
The blue tachikoma is a vector work I traced in illustrator with Gradient Mesh Tool. No brush work nor Photoshop effect. Mesh tool is very powerful thing when you want to show something with metal effects and lighting. However it's sort of difficult for me to use it properly. It took me two days to finish this mesh of thinking tank. And the deadline for submission is already close. So I rushed the gradient background with some setting scans and the novel "The laughing man".
My first widescreen wall and first mecha wall as well. Stand Alone, but complex.
It has been a while since my last wall, so hope it get approved and you can enjoy it.
The background is a bit simple, but nice, the colors and the rings are looking good. The tachikoma is looking good, it fits to the background well. Nice wallpaper.
I didn't mind the plain background in the previous version but this is a nice change. I love the vector and good job on the mesh gradient... looks too complicated for me to even attempt >_<
Great wall!
This is cool! ^-^
I like the background and colors used, and you definitely did a great with vectoring - wow, me likes XD
Overall, quite an interesting wallpaper!! ^-^
Nice it's like "Tachikoma showcase". The black background is great. The tachikoma looks great, and it fits perfectly with the "Gates".. Nice idea. this wall looks great. That's one simple, cool GiTS wall for ya.
The vector work is nice .. doing that with the Mesh tool must be hard xD .. i really need to read more about Illustrator myself lol .. i didnt even use it after buying it xD .. the coloring is not what i would have done but it suite the anime well :) ..
-0- really long time no see...I just checked your gallery, and it seems that I'm not the only one who was missing for months -0-
well, the bg is always my pain. This wall got rejected at the first time cuz its plain bg. and....now another one... I guess the mod just gave up in the end XD

That looks FANTASTIC! I like the simple background design. The vector looks great too! Lots of detail! I like the rings to the sides and at the base of the wallpaper. They look really terrific! I like the lighting effect you used too! Favorite for sure!
I know that the scan this is from has a little bit of fog in it, and I can still see that fog in front of the tachikoma in your image. You should consider darkening the tachkikoma to compensate for this.

You're right. I fit it with the original colors...so....
I'll fix this problem soon. THANKS! ^ ^

That illuminating blue color is very beautiful. The colors are saturated perfectly! I like the placement of the rings, and the whole metal feel, coolness ^_^
I loved it... the tachikoma are the cutest ever... XD... great effects you did with the program rings around the tachikoma... it could be a little happier, for the tachikoma are not just killing machines |... but it's really awesome either way... ... congrats

two thumbs up, I don't know anything about using the gradient mesh except that it is incredibly hard- but you managed to pull it off perfectly.
a favorite for me!
