This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Don't really know much about the anime and the character,
just found the scan around here..
again, *used stock bg from "Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Perfect Visual Collection Artbook"
exctracted the character, resized, improved quality and blended with the bg.
bg was cropped, resized, blurred, burned, and alot more blending..
added the anime title, and a line from an old classmate..
7 layers for characters
3 layers for bg
6 for text
= 16 layers

my only problem is that i find that the bg and the render itself doesnt really blend with one another
try working on that ^^

The scan compared to the background does not mix well at all. Perhaps experimenting with brushes would have been ideal to make this scan (which is nice)blend better. Also the angle of the character looks a bit out-of-place. She is walking along flat ground, but in the scans case... it looks like the viewer is looking up at her instead of directly at her.
But... it was a nice try though so thats a plus! Thanks for sharing.

The background is beautiful, the ground, the building, the colors are looking really nice. The character is looking good, she fits to the background well. Very nice wallpaper.
I don't know the series, but it seems really good... remindes me Da Capo...i don't know why...
The sc is very nice...and the school bg is great! I'm gonna search for it now XD
