This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
My second entry for which? waller round 2, featuring Okami.
I just love Okami artwork, and have been wanting to make a wall for it for quite some time. It took a while to figure out what to do, though. I had traced Amaterasu's wolf form quite a few months ago, but didn't know what to do with the background until I saw another Okami scan with great iron snakes. I thought their samurai hats were amusing, so I combined the two scans into one wallpaper. I figured this would be my most recognizable wall because the texture is the same one I've used on dozens of Kino walls to impart the parchment feeling.
ZOMG DUAL WIDESCREEN WTF? ...I made this for work. Dual widescreen is awesome. More reasonable resolutions here
The dual widescreen version is breathtaking T_T. I can't say much else besides "I'm faving" and "I wish I could use the full image on my inferior 1280x800 screen."
Wah! So cool... Too bad the duel screen versions look so much better than the single screen, otherwise it'd be just fantastic. But really nice wall, love the snake peeking down from the top of the screen, that cracks me up. Okami FTW.
Dual widescreen! xD lol I can't use it but good job.
I liked how you used those iron snake with the wolf to make a nice and well done wallpaper, you use a right combination.
+fav of cuz :P
Okami!
I have to admit I can a bit of the wall at a time, but that's just another way of saying that there's alot of amazing detail put into this and widescreen walls rock!
Instant Fave
Great wallpaper that does complete justice to the art direction of the game. I esp. love the scroll like quality that fits the mood of the game so well. Excellent work. My only gripe is practicality...I have a widescreen monitor and it's still too wide, but still I guess that can't be helped at all. +Fav
