This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
Simply put...
image:
- Cropped the scan
- reconstructed the shoulder on the right
- wanted a blue tint to the scan, so I dabbled with different colour techniques
background:
- simple arrows in the direction of her leaning
- contrasting blue colours to offset the overall baby-blue background
- added random rectangular shapes climbing up the right side of the wall to give it some balance of both sides
- added text within the shapes
- soft overlay of pixel squares to give it some texture
Well well. I like this wall for the simple choices.
The background is simple and the scan cut is very clear so the lines between the scan and the background transitions really well as the theme of pumping up the bass and sound is just perfect to the scanned picture.
I for once give it a good choice cut.
Not because of the background choice, but because of how simple it is so it could avoid hurting your eyes when you wake up in the morning and seeing the flash.
Then again a white screen in the morning is the same thing....

Love the way you place the arrows and the text.
