This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Lol, though I don't really follow Eureka Seven, I've watched a couple episodes of the anime teehee.
Anyhoo, I was bored and randomly going through scans, and came across this one that I thought might've been interesting to use for a wall. Though, the idea I started out was really clear, this wall just took me a long time to do because it took a long time to find the right stocks to use and a long time to fix it in the right style I wanted TuT I've never tried the 'painting' style so I thought I'd give it a shot be improv-ing with blurs, blends, and smudging xD (because I suck at drawing with a mouse and my old tablet is broken beyond repair T.T).
Initially I guess my problem was that everything was really really empty. That is...besides the ground, the sky, Renton and the wave(which I drew with the mouse and then mega filtered until it looked half decent xDDD - heh...I suck). And yeah...I guess I still have the problem of emptiness (or maybe it was detail...I can't remember x_x;; ) but now I'm just lazy to fix it xD (I'll probably do it later nya^^
[EDIT]free time yayy~ went back and made some changes: took out the birds, softened up some lines and added text(so the bottom right corner doesn't look so empty x3)
[EDIT again xD] fwa messed up the title and moved something wrong ehehe...
Hey, this looks pretty cool i guess. I like the concept but it still dosent look completed. The birds really are bad im sorry, I dont see how the minimalistic birds really fit in the gorgeous orange sunset. I think that the colors you have used are too...too much I guess? I would suggest making the characters colors stand out a little more. ALSO the green spray of lighty stuff should be darker I think.

The picture really matches the background very well
I really like the lightning and the board and the sparks really makes it cool!
Very nice job you did there, I hope to see more wallpapers from you
Great wallpaper; for not being overly familiar with with the series, you sure managed to capture many of the themes and feelings present within Eureka seveN.
The link you provided for the stock image seems to be outdated or dead, so I can't really comment on the work you did with the stock background images, but seems to be done well overall. The trapar wave I feel is particularly well done, especially for something done by hand.
The only minor thing which detracts a little is the character scan, which I think is a little rough around the edges may perhaps even a little blurry (though maybe you were trying to convey the sense of motion or speed).
Anyway, very good wallpaper. Thank you for it, certainly a favorite in my books!
P.S. - Any chance of reposting the text-less version somewhere, I'd be really appreciative!
I haven't watched the anime so what I say might be wrong. I don't like how the background is orange and the light coming off the board is green...The colors just don't mix....maybe a more blendable color? Red? Darker hue of Orange?

The background is looking good, the scenery and the colors are nice. The character looks good, he fits to the background well. The title is nice, good wallpaper.
Nice colors, fitting my desktop. I like it because my desk is also made of wood in a bright color and my roomcolor is a very light composite of bleach and orange. I like the way Renton is reffing :)
Wow nice wall! I don't think that I've ever seen someone try to match green with gold. But you tried it, and WOW! What a success! I don't know if it's the slightly blurred Trapar or the gold background. Whatever it is, good job! :D I love it! Oh yeah, you don't suck. If I could produce these kinda walls, I would be really happy. This wall is a definite favorite! You rock!
Hmm, this wallpaper is very strange... I really dont know if I like it or not... its confusing.
On one hand its a beautiful seamless combination of a scan and a landscape {what was the tutorial you used, I love this painting effect} but on the other hand the colour scheme really confuses me, it feels really washed out and cold, but then when I think about it, introducing more saturation would definitely be a mistake... and to change the sky to clear blue would also be a step in the wrong direction because we see to many wallpapers of Eureka 7 with blue sky's and Renton refing.
All I know is that something needs to be changed... its nagging at the back of my mind. Damnit, other wise this is a great wallpaper, good work!
Nice wall! i really like it...but the only thing is i don't really like the colors for some reason...i'm exactly sure why...but the colors just don't suit me..but w/e
it's still a nice wall

The background isn't bad though. I'm not a fan of those birds though.

Anyone want to take a shot at vectoring this? I would be truly grateful to have this in wallpaper size.
