This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
After studying non-stop for almost three weeks, my finals are over ^^ I always wanted to make a Death Note but I admit that this the most frustrating wallpaper I've worked with yet (and thats why it's been rotting away my hard drive).
Cleaning the scan was a pain, at one point I thought of vectoring it but after much considerations I left it the way it was because I didn't want to lose the texture and highlights/shadows in the scan. I had so many ideas for the background but it was just difficult deciding how to approach it using this particular scan.
This is the results after much playing around and cleaning (oh my, there was tons of cleaning) I was going to use L but it seem more appropriate to have Mello and Near instead because

They're the ones who catches Kira--Second L--Light in the end though it's physically Near who catches him since Mello dies.
Simple, but nonetheless I'm quite happy with the results.
The background is looking interesting, the colors and patterns are good. The characters are looking good, they fit to the background well. The title'd look good on the picture though, nice wallpaper.

Haha, excellent job! I especially like the background of Near and Mellow. Good blending and choice of colours used. The grain effect does enhance the artistic quality of the wallpaper dramatically.
It looks...creepy... But also awesome. You did a very good job with scan. The only thing that bugs me is that text,it's too simply for a wall like this!Anyway,great work! +fav

Wow, this is a really fantastic wallpaper! I love the colours that makes this wallpaper a little bit dark and bloody, just like how a death note wall should look like. Your hard work at the cleaning of the scans payed off! I like how the scans turned out, great choice at keeping the textures on the scans. This is definitely a fav for me.
