After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Well, i took a look at this scan, and realized it had not been walled yet so i thought i would be the first. Firstly ill explain how the character was made. I used the original scan. (Yes, it has been vectored already in AP but i like to have credit for my own work and not others.)
The scan cleaning was rigorous. This was extremely time consuming as i had to re-do nearly every single line to get rid of the light effects from the original scan. Also i had to basically re-color every single bit of color to make the image look clean for the wall. Also i made my own little extras. I re-vectored her open eye to give a more reflective feel to it. The original was just too dull for my liking. Also i changed the lighting on her to make it more realistic in regards to where the light is coming from. I added a bit of shine on the reflections on her body to give it a "nice" feeling. I also made half of the right rabbit-ear myself as the scan didn't completely have it already. It was completely re-CG'd but call it a vector if you like because i basically re-colored and re-lined the whole thing. Please do compare the original scan to my wall just to show the work i actually did on it.
Now an explanation for the background.
Firstly im sure you are thinking "The background seems to empty!"
Well there is a reason for this. Even though i have not used many objects as such in the BG, i wanted it to look more openly like this to give an "Open Oceanic Feel" to it. Adding more items into the BG would just clutter it and make it seem highly unrealistic. After all.... an open ocean doesn't necessarily contain many things except birds and stuff.
I added the seagulls..(which you usually find at the beach)They were vectored from the scan. Also the water was vectored, but i enhanced it more to give nice splash effects and glints on one of the splashes from light reflection. The reason i wanted the water like this is because i wanted it to contrast with Komugi better. I added the sun-ray effects myself which took me a while to get right, and the cloud was courtesy of a brush. I can say the only brushes i used apart from the default ones was to do the glints on the splashing water and the clouds. The rest was completed by me. I also added the light fog effect on top of the water to somehow give the ocean a more realistic feel and make it look like it's coming from the water waves.
This wall was a long time in the making. That is because i got side-tracked due to family issues. I hope you enjoy the nice open feel that this wall portrays. I wanted to do something to remind me of summer because it is turning winter here. :(
Anyway comments, critiques, faves.... i don't care what this wall gets.
I hope you enjoy this wall "Ocean Pose!"

I think I might like the orginal scan's bg better than this wallpaper because it's a lot more eye-catching. Nevertheless, the vector is very good. Good job.
Hey brad!!
i'm here to do what i told u...comment and fav this great wall u've made!! ^^
as i said to you before...what i like the most about this wall are those bright colors you used!
they are amazing!! (i'm in love with the color of the water XDXD)
the effort you put on that scan is unbelievable!! and it was totally worth it cause you did an amazing job on this one!
i like the simple BG..u know that...and i like those birds you added there too =)
Brad...excellent work! I'm glad you did this wall ^^
+favs of course!!

The background is plain and nice, the sky look good, though the water's color hues are changing strangely. The character looks good, she fits to the background well. Nice wallpaper.
Hmmm.... nice. The first thing which i love about this wall is the camera angle. That really sets the whole wall into the absolute correct perspective to what it is. The realism as you have mentioned, has been maintained very nicely. I think that the bg is perfect for this scene and this angle especially. Although in some ways, the original scan does look a bit better. But it's alright even if there are no clouds or anything in the bg. We can have a clear sky, you know :P
The vector is also very nicely done. Very clean. The seagulls are very important here. They suggest the having of a beach nearby. Which becomes necessary when there is nothing else to do the same. So, i think that the wall is complete. And nothing necessary or important is needed here to add to the bg or anything.
There is however, always room for improvement and even here. You could have added a few rather 'trivial' things. Like, maybe the glare that we see in the scan of the sun. Adding the sun the same ways, that is. Or some water droplets on the camera to give a more realistic effect. OR, just wet the hot body of that girl to sizzle things up like The Firestorm! ;D
Lol... what i mean to say is that making the lower torso(Mmmm... hmm... lower torso.... interesting... xD) a bit wet as she is already in the water. But just a bit. It would also add in a bit to the 'ecchiness' of the wall. (*Imagines it* Results of imagination = *DRooOLLLLLZZZZZ* O_O O_O O_O)
But these are just some 'extra effects' sort of stuff. It's not necessary but the wall could've looked better with it.
The wall is perfect as it is. And i like it! :D
Nice work, Brad! ^_^
Warmest regards,
The Firestorm
