This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Another wall for me ... to say the truth i wasn't going to submit this one but the 15th of May was Yakushi's birthday ... So here is my little present for him
Happy birthday ^^
As for the wall itself :
- i vectored a pic i came across when broswsing my basilisk folder (the vector is in the gallery :p )
- Look into my stock photos to search for the most suitable one and found the parchemin
Don't complain about the fact that stock was already walled ... I know ... Warrior and Tama-neko (maybe even more wallers) already used it in one of their walls ... But that doesn't change the fact it was the most suitable stock both for the scan and for the serie
- Collage concept ... maybe it is a bit overused but i just couldn't imagine a pop art wall with that scan ... ;)
- Texture and lighting steps ... i'll give virtual cookies to anyone able to find what was the main texture on the wall XD
- I painted their names and clans names ...
- Added and textured blood
- Added Senbons (the needles) and shurikens
-----> senbons are Danjou's weapons and shurikens are not Ogen's but almost ;)
And voila ...
You'll see the whole wall is build on the diagonal shown by the blood splatter ... it is for showing their rupture ...
Oooh, nice. Doesn't matter if it's been done before as long as you've done it well, which you definitely have :3 Love the shuriken additions. I haven't watched Basilisk but the wall is definitely stylin'.
Oh my god!! You didn't told me your where preparing this :'(
This is really a sort of come back for you :)
For the wall I have nothing to say, the color and the texture is well applied and sweet.
Unfortunately I don't know the anime (is it a shame?)
Well, A fav of course :)
Woah, thats nice. you hardly ever see walls with that style in such good quality and with such a good blending. looks really fantastic..realistic and harmonic..do i need to say more? :D
Lovely! what a great present!!
and i agree with nat's.. it doesn't matter if it has already been used... you did a wonderfull work with it and the little additions look great!!..
i love the style, the colors.. really nice job and everything blends together...
a fav!
kisses..

Oh my... jealousy will kill me, now.
How can I not love it? This is really fantastic wallpaper, and the fact that stock was already walled - who cares? You made something original and it rocks ^^

lol, it's fine even though the elements have been used elsewhere. this still has its own flavor. The blood and especially the names... and the needles... agh, I just love everything about this.
I like the paper scroll that was used for the bg. The 2 faces coming out of one is pretty cool, the japanese writing adds a touch of making the wallpaper authentic, and the blood splats are always a favorite of mine. good job. can't wait to see more
A very good wallpaper as always with you but why wasn't you going to submit it ?
Anyway, i like the parchemin thing for the background but the splattering of blood is too linear is like a separation line. May be another distribution would have been better ?
More scattered ?
Good work.
Hmm, I really like this image, the Vector is beautifully done and the way it all comes together on the scroll, despite it being used before (stock img) looks gorgeous. Plus even if it has been used before, it's always interesting to see an older image used differently or by someone else. The extra details such as the weapons and the bloodspatter really add a nice effect to the wallpaper! Great Job!
Thank you so much for your present Diane
You know i was gonna dedicate my latest wall to you cause of your help and support in my wall career and internet life as well but i currently have no time to finish it due to exams:( I promise ill get it done starting from 6/6/2007(when my exams finish:P)
You REALLY mean so much to me...
I really love the style you used on this one!
It is warrior-like isnt it?:P
Anyways, you made a very nice wall!
THANK YOUUUUUU!

Freakin Fabulous. And as nat said, it doesn't really matter if a similar style has been used in past (then what should we say about the hundreds of minimalistic vectored wallpapers around? ;D) as long as the result is good. And it is good. This is really high quality material and a good desktop wallpaper. If you have some spare time I'd wish you to make to more resolutions (1600x1280 or 1280x1204, or 1600x1200) for the people who don't have a widescreen monitor. :)
