This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wall is basically a vector in wallpaper size, made for a contest over at MT. My first CLAMP vector and my biggest vector yet!
This vector was actually a lot of firsts for me.
-My first time using a CLAMP scan: CLAMP are such awesome artists and their scans are so interesting and fun to vector!
-My first time using the stroke-path method: Yes, I used stroke path. When I was deciding how to vector the scan I figured that it would be much easier and turn out a lot better if I used stroke path. Plus vectoring all those little flowers with shape layers would have driven me crazy and taken a lot more time. So if my outlines aren't as good as usual, forgive me, this was new to me. However it was a learning experience too. But don't worry, shape layer fans such as myself will be happy to know that I still plan on using shape layers for my vectors. (And for you stroke path fans, I'm sure I'll do another vector like this some day!)
-My first time using blurs and such: I found the best way to make my vector match the scan was to blur some parts of it to give it that softly-shaded look.
As you can see I added some patterns and textures to it, because I am completely obsessed with such things. I tried to not add too many though for those who don't like it. The clouds in the background I made myself with some self-made brushes. I thought it would look better than if I attempted to vector the clouds in the scan.
Anyways I entered this in a Freedom walling contest, because summer is upon us, and that means freedom from certain things *cough-school-cough*, which means more time to relax and do fun things, as depicted in this scan ^_^.
(I told myself not to write a long description, too late for that :P) I've submitted this image at MT as a vector without the texture overlayed, for those interested.
Anyways I hope you like this vector/wall! Comments and faves are greatly appreciated! *Hugs*

P.S. I made a widescreen version for all you widescreeners but I don't think it's as good as the normal sized one. More resolutions available upon request!
It is a bit unfair to disregard this wallpaper like this. But I have downloaded it and thought maybe I should leave a comment of some sort. I just don't like this image. The two young girls don't look so bad here, but the witch Yuko is just more like a serpent than a human.
That's a really nice wall. I love it. Just by looking at the three beuties make you feel good~~ I love the scan and the background, they fit each other very well. I like the color, too. They are really vivid and colorful!! Awsome job! Keep it up!

Oh my!! I really love it ^^' I just downloaded it :) I'll use it on my desktop when summer comes hehe... the vector is pretty good... OMG Mokona is so cute sleeping close to Sakura like this ^^ The flowers and plants are beautiful... it looks like you took a lot of time doing this wallpaper... but the bricks on the background are a bit weird :P but they aren't too noticeable :) This is definitely a fav ^^'
Even though its a bit too busy its very nice.
But I think you should do something with those clouds because they are not matching the foreground.
But still, very cute, nice, calm and cheerful. Keep up the hard work!!

I would be very favoured! The 1st takes you to the main page, the 2nd the soundtrack page, and the last a little scan page.
