This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Great, now im going psycho... it may be possible ive been spending a few hours searching for a scan that i think i saw but truly never existed... it was all in my head =.=;
It was a lovely scan to start out with ( see it here), however (and as usual) painfully covered in text. Also, it was ready to go as a widescreen wallpaper, but I needed to extend it on both sides and the top in order to make it fit for both resolutions. So I edited the characters to fit, and make them shiny. Then, since most of the text was on the background, I decided to re-create it. I made a few sheets of palm tree fronds and really just used them all over to create the trees that you see. That was the toughest part, the rest was the usual masking clouds and using masking and paint brushes to make a little beach :D
Cool! a volleybal themed wallpaper ^_^. I love it, I have never found a wallpaper that features volleyball. Favorite from me! Nice work cleaning up that scan ^_^.
This is very well done, phenomenal job with the cleaning. The girls look great and the background simply looks perfect. This piece of work deserves a 5 out of 5 from me.
Indeed a lovely scan, and anything that lovely can only be done justice through your skillful removing of words and text and make it absolutely fantastic.
