This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Alright AP!! Ive been working my ass off on this wallpaper for nearly a week. I know a lot more about photoshop, and with the help of Danalm and a few others, I learned how to Vector an image!!
Alright. I have changed basically the whole lighting scheme. The image of eureka and renton is now vector'd, and i added a small inner glow to make it look as if light was coming from behind them. The outer glow is as was on previous versions.

Better...
but the shapes are jagged... first of all fix both characters hair...
you could also add more shapes of shadows and highlights.. for example on the hair.. and face...
the bg still needs work..
it's a little empty and the elements are not matching... the flowers look blurry and they don't make much sense.. the same goes for the lines around...
as i suggested before.. search for some stock.. or vector a balcony or something.. cause this is still looking a bit empty... Once you have your balcony.. then you could add some green plants around using brushes...
Alright. Ill work on the hairline. The border will go also. Ill get something a little different. I was thinking of a landscape. Kinda like the actual scene in the anime. Maby i should vector another screencap (Serousley Thinks About it)
Alright. Im going to go back into the wallpaper and smooth out alot of rough curves. Then im going to detail alot of smaller stuff. Tag on the finishing touches, Then i belive it might be ready for submission to the gallery.
Well you just need to smoothen stuff.. and i would. i just would outline eureka a bit more on the facial glow side to make her more noticable.. or maybe decrease thelight intensity in that part!!
and try something different with he text... like creating some kinda placard for the text to sit on.. but still it's some nice work you've done.
mayeb add a few sky fish in the background... or maybe add some falling leaves or butterflies (brushes brushes brushes...lol)
neways it's coming good!

Wow this wall improved alot XD . Nice work mon, though you removed the flowery lines that is behing the font which frankly, i like .
Ok i'll be really honest here and give ya my whole opinion, inorder to help ya improve this wall. I'am sorry in advance if some of my opinion kinda insult you, i never meant to insult anyone .()#
Oh and i'm really sorry if i sounded a bit arrogant .()#
-------------------------The bad part about the wall-------------------------
- Eureka's hair kinda give me the impression that she coloured her head instead of having hair since it is so smooth at her neck line and on her forehead.
-The outline of the vectors need alot more work and try making the outline alot thicker.
-The glow give's the impression of blurriness to the character
-The flowery thingo behind the character dissapear
-Isn't Eureka's eyebrows supposed to be blue ?
--------------------------How you could improve it---------------------------
- For the outline you should practice using the pen-tool here is a website that i found that have tutorials for using pen-tool http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/tutorials/0402-23.html
- Instead of using Glow it will be alot nicer if you select eureka's and renton's and rentons out lines make sure that there is no unselected part in the middle, increase the size of the selection, feather it and paint it white. i think that will be alot better.
well that's about it, i'll look forward to your next post
AHH~lots of improvement, but still loads to work on...
vector. i can't say much as vectoring isn't exactly my cup of tea, but i'm sure the others will point out what's bad abt it and where you can improve. all i know it's got loads of room for improvement...
and the borders and text...hmmm...i still think you should change it. ruining the effect of the kiss too...try using stocks? or create a scenic wall. probably suit this image much better...
