This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Addicted to this series.. so i want to make a wallpaper from this title as the 2nd series will air soon.
first in my mind, "i want to wall Rena" and as you all can see the title is "RENA"
choose Rena scan from gallery (she look innocent with that blade), vector it, reconstruct her hand and the knife, and colored it with a painty look,
for the background i still use night scene and full moon is a must XD
then paint the gate , a little perspective. then colored the gate...another painty look.
adding some fireflies and fog to make it creepy^^.
hope you like dark blue atmosphere at this wallpaper^^.

I wish you add some blood on machete or Rena...that would be one of hell wallpaper of Rena. But hey it is nice wallpaper. I don't know which should I'm staring at... scary machete or beautiful moon behind Rena.

Anyway, I love what you did with the wallpaper. It looks beautiful and the vector's great. I wish there were a few more details on the hair though.
erm... yeah, critique. with a moon that big, the shadows on her should be more intense. Plus maybe the posts need to be softened a bit as their outlines are pretty sharp.
aside from that, vectoring rocks :D and good job on the painty look. The painty look I cannot achieve no matter what I do.

BUT...,
I see few problems in it...
1. you apply some texture to Rena...you should apply it to the BG too...
2. you still need some work on the temple gate...it can be more detailed though
3. erm, the trees looks a little bit weird to me...especially at the bottom...
4. you should extent the mist till the bottom of the BG, and also need to cover Rena...
5. er...that yellow brush on the BG...you want to make it like fireflies, right...? you should make it brighter...
well, it still a great works, and I can't make wallpaper like this..so...+fave

Nice wall. I just think that her face needs some more detail and maybe the trees don't look like they're painted but look like real instead. Anyway, I am delighted to see that people liked the experimenting style of my Proper Education wall and tend to use it. For that, I'll fav.

all the cute innocent psycho thing is there
just one thing: fingers
the fingernail on her left hands thumb is misplaced and the fingers on her right hand look funny, the index finger even looks amputated
well, maybe that adds to the atmosphere...
The background is looking really good, the scenery and the colors are very nice. The color of the gate should've been brown, or faint red, it'd fit to it more. The character is looking good, she fits to the background well. Nice wallpaper.
The lighting is very nicely done, as well as the wall in general. I'm not too big on the trees, but they don't detract in a large way for me. Great job!
