This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

It was really hard for a vector newbie like me. >_< Afro gave me a really hard time. Especially his hair which I had to do with the tablet because the paths needed to be really close to each other so that it would look like it does now.
Finally, I would like to thank everybody from Vertigo Assembly (aka. AlmightyBaka's harem LOL). AlmightyBaka, Yina, nona, Tiger, highknees, misu and tate, but especially asa01 who would spot everything that went wrong with my wallpaper. Thank you everyone! ^^

Beautiful choice of colors ...
My only complaint is the smoke ... i can see you use the hair's trace and use symetry ... I think with a tablet you could have easily make your own smoke ...

You done a great job on vectoring, don't say you're a newbie since I would be below newbie then I like colors that you've chosen too.

You get a fav for your awesome vectoring on this one. I love how his sword came out. A pain in the arse to vector I would bet, but it all came out really well.
Afro samurai rox! the show was a tribute to the oldskool shit man, love the vector only the smoke is indd a bit weard, i dont know if ya watched the show but maybe temples ore such a gateway shinbi thing would have looked better.. good vector still, got a small urge to make vector request from you :P i want the dual sword teddy head!

This vector is not very newbie-like at all, very good job with the detail on the sword and hair, the smoke maybe could of been a bit more transparent than solid, but your color scheme rocks and gives the overall wall a great atmosphere, can't wait for more of your vectors, stormy!
N00b or no n00b this wall is amazing!
The vector is pretty much perfect, I dont see any faults anywhere and the limited colors make it even more artistic. Also the vectored smoke looks very very well blended!
Keep this up Maria! Cant wait to see what you'll be making when you stop being a n00b!

Although I hate this Afro Samurai anime, I think the scan used fits perfectly with the background, and I like the difference of colours that the katana (that brown thing is a katana, right? XD) has. :P

Ooh, there's a lot of detail so this newbie gets 100% for effort! Well the vector is almost perfect too! It's just that some of the lines are a bit jaggy (looks... pixelated?) but that doesn't matter that much. It's a very cool wallpaper.
You got tons of style here :) I really like how you followed the style of the series perfectly. And of course, massive respect to you for vectoring the hair and the background. That must have driven you nuts xD

This is yet another wall for the war at povism.org.
This time the challenge was a vector from any Gonzo show using five colors (+ black and white) or less.
