This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This is meant to be a VERY simple, yet comedic, Bleach Wallpaper.
I used Paint.Net to create it. Because of the software, I could not vector the bleach container. I could not enlarge it, because of the poor image qaulity. So, I decided to COMPLETELY paint over it.
I enlarged the bottle, and I also changed the shape of the shadow to the shape of the bottle. I have also added a chibi Ichigo, sitting on top of the bottle. Most of the time was figuring out what I wanted to do. Then I found this chibi Ichigo. However, His lower half was completely missing, so I decided to totally redraw him from the waist down. I positoned his legs and the folds in his costume to make it appear as if he was sitting.
A bunch of people offered great ideas and suggestions for this wall. Thanks a ton! I added Ichigo's shadow and cleaned up the rest of the shadow. I changed a couple colors too. I'm happy with the end result and I don't think I'll change it any more.
So far, I have used 57 layers working on and off for a couple months.
(To tell you all the truth, I'm kinda' sick of working on it...)
So what do you think? Like?
(Fav or else you'll go flying. Just kidding!)
PS : So far, you can download in only 1 size. I'll try to make more available if enough poeple ask.
God I love puns, in all shapes and sizes. Although I don't care for Bleach (it seems too generic to me), I think that little spruce of wit behind this one makes it into an entertaining wallpaper, one that I think I'll go ahead and download. And I like its simplicity, despite the fact that you obviously paid attention to detail with respect to shadowing, color blending, etc. Simple, delightful, etc. I'll favorite it.
This is an awesome wall! If you wanted to add more depth to it, you could have the bleach under a spot light and change the font to a white color to show up against the darkness. Either way, this wall is great! I love your idea! ^_^
Well, there's not a lot of detail on this one, but sometimes simpler is better. The concept behind this one makes me smile just looking at it. Very nicely done.
I tied to submit it, (finally) but it got changed to a Session Zero paper.
Oh yeah, sorry about me taking so long... I was kind of busy with some other things.
So what do you think is wrong? Why won't AP accept this?
Damn good idea, but the vectored look isn't working I think. You need to properly vector it because it looks like it's painted. The label doesn't look right because it's jagged. Vector it and you're in for a winner there!
Sure, it looks painted, but honestly, I think that look works great for this type of wallpaper. The positioning of the Bleach logo looks a bit off to me, and I think a smoother cast shadow would look good given the style of the rest of the wallpaper, but other than that, this wallpaper is great!
Heck... i'll help you out with vectoring and cleaning up .. i could do the labels for ya.
and i'd give the bleach character a smoothening too.
anyways i'll see if i can outline a few parts for ya.
i'll tell ya tomorrow abt it if i do it at all..
Anyways... download the 30 day illustrator trial... it'll take you like 2 days max to vector the whole thing in your own sweet time.
and its simple to download illustrator too from the adobe site.
I thought i could help you out but i think your wallpaper's too detailed for my skill level...lol.
you are not a noob...lol... but i am... haha
Funny idea, I'm sure you've been working on this for a long time, I'm sure I've seen this before when I just registered to AP. It's very original, you don't get many walls like this one too often. Also you did a good vectoring job on the character. But I'm not sure about the bottle... the shades are a bit strange. I'm sure it'll be great if you fix it ^_^
