This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Yet another entry from the War II over at Povism.org, for the Melancholy-themed contest against EVI! One of the stipulations was that you could only use one character, which is why the cat is missing from my vector. Go Vertigo Assembly! Kick butt in my absence ;D;!
This whole thing was vectored/painted by me in Photoshop CS2, except the pattern on the wall. I got it from some website, but I forget where :'D Not much else to say about this, other than it took forever to make!

Vectors are nice and neat although i have to agree with tate, that the highlights on the piano needs to be smudged a little to make it blend in more nicely. Awesome job on the floor! You've also done a good job at making this wall look melancholic. It's very fitting with the theme.

I can say this wallpaper is totally gorgeous and although some may be surprised, my favourite part is the texture on the wall. Gives such a neat feel to this wall. I also like the way you modified the curtains to a simpler mode. It was clever and I bet you did that to save time. Now, what I would really like to see on this wall would be a more dramatic and intense lighting just like the scan and maybe painted clouds 'cause the vectored ones feel a little too solid for my taste. I still lurve this the same. Those suggestions are of course a matter of taste. Your vectors pwn.

Very nice! I love how sharp the vectors look! The piano looks great! Loads of detail, right down to the polish on the wood surfaces! I love the light effects too! Lots of great shadows which really gives this wallpaper a great atmosphere! The young lady looks awesome! This series is on my "to buy" list should it ever reach NZ! Great art! Favorite!
Not bad, not bad at all. One could easily mistake this for a Newtype scan. The only thing that I am not really convinced of are the clouds in the background (grey clouds at night? o_O), which might have been more convincing if they were painted . And probably some of the areas of the background could be emphatized more with more lighting/shading but I guess that looks pretty much fine already as it is. :)

I sort of agree with what Shinn said about the clouds... I have a great weakness for fluffy, painted clouds lol... but aside from that, this is overall amazing. The dramatic lighting on the girl and the texture are my favorite parts. Maybe the gold line on the piano to the left could be darkened a bit too but... what the heck... *shuts up and favs*

I agree with some of the stuff said above... but anyway i think those clouds are pretty cool for being vectored.. i mean, not many people can achieve good looking vectored clouds, maybe the colors could be changed a bit, but it doesn't matter... i don't know why, but i just like them anyway :P
About the inside scene.. i can't say much, cause it's beautifull..
i love the lighting on the piano cause i preffer pure vector shapes :P without smudging or blurring, i like to play with gradients instead... anyway, that's just my personal taste :P
the floor looks awesome too...
