While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Tanabata - Wikipedia

Tanabata (七夕, meaning "Seven Evenings") is a Japanese star festival, derived from Obon traditions and the Chinese star festival, Qi Xi. The festival is usually held on July 7, and celebrates the meeting of Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair). The Milky Way, a river made from stars that crosses the sky, separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year. This special day is the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.

I think it's lacking in detail, the background especially. The rails are solid colors too. Other than that, the characters are pretty nice. It's still kind of overly textured, and not in a really good way. With a little more work this could become really great.

Yina! You're so awesome at making your own original characters. They look so perfect. =3 I envy your skills.Especially how you drew the hands. I always tend to mess up when i draw hands, but you did it really well. I also like the romantic atmosphere in the background. This is definitely one of my top fav walls from this round of PV. ^_^

Ah beautiful. Really love the textures and the mood set on it. Somehow the pair reminds me Bokura no Ita. It looks almost exactly like Nana and Yado, even the hair ^^. But thats one of my favorite couples in anime so only good ;)

I don't know much about festival (thanks for wiki article btw ^-^), but it seems you made appropriate wall for it. The lovers look so sweet and I think leaving the bg without too many details was a wise idea - otherwise, the focus would indeed be elsewhere, and it would be a pity!

Wonderful stuff! the pic is just to sweet. I'm so weak for romantic stuff :D So this is a instant fav. Such a cool and lovely wall. There 2 are very cute characters remind me abit of Nana and Yano (i think that's his name) from Bokura ga ita. Maybe coz of their hair colors ^^ and the style. The mood that's displaying in this wall is just warm and sweet. Lovely work as always. :)

Awesome looks cool..The background is bright illuminated by the those chinese hanging light (do you call them lanterns).....(O_O)......There is a small amount of mist in the background....THose lover birds look good lol...The only problem i see is that i think the guy who is holding the girl his head is a bit too smalll...Well that doesnt corrupt the wallpaper...Keep it up
