This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Heya,... ^^ I know I said that I won't wall til my exam finished, but I was so frustated with studying, that I ... um, then played around with my Photoshop a bit XD XD XD
fine, fine, I admit I was actually really planning on walling this scan, so just now, I was sooo bored >_< that I decided I would wall this scan that I like so much :)
yup yup, fell in love with this scan long time ago, so I wall it XD

Hmm, decided to do it simple this time, .. :P At 1st I was going to make a bright-daylight wall using this, with a park as the background, but then I just feel that it doesn't really suit the scan, so after changing my mind again and again for about 1-2 hours, I decided to make it a night scene :)
So this here is just both of them standing on a very high ground at a park somewhere, and then the night sky as the background... I used a stock photo as the city there, and just pretend that there is another lamp in front of them, kay? XP I know the lighting kinda weird, but if the fences and lamp posts are not dark, we cannot really see the contrast...
Oh, the lamp post is also a stock photo, while I made the metal bar myself... :D Oh, and yeah I want the sky to be clear and nice without clouds (again, the contrast thingy)
All in all, I am actually not 100% satisfied at this wall, but yeah, I still submitted it so that I can get input on what I have done wrong >_<

As usual, all comments and critics are welcomed...:D Any suggestions are good too..
Tho' as I said earlier I am not 100% happy -_- , it doesn't mean I would update this wall, cos I simply have no time x_x (I really really need to study), my exam is starting again soon (now am having a one-week break..).. But I do appreciate all your comments, ..
Thank you in advance :) uh, and I promised to look to all your subs (60 of them!! for now..) after I finished exams...
++edit/updated++
I redo the city line as fukushuusha had pointed out :D , and did some change in the sky as kai had suggested... the sky looks a bit too crowded now IMO -_-but I think it looks better than the plain one.. tell me what you think ;) I tried to fix the railing too and the stars again.. I hope it is better now ^^

This wallpaper caught my eye since I had seen the original scan before. The conversion from day (in the original scan) to night is novel and having seen the end result I must say the transition is faultless. The scan looks like it belonged in this scene to begin with ^^ My only suggestion is to maybe lower the opacity or get rid of the text "sightseeing". The graffiti font clashes with the scriptlike font below it. ><;; Other than that, this wallpaper is very nice. Good job!
Oh..my...gosh...this is SOO pretty!! I can't enough of night views and this is near perfect... One nag, I'm not really fond of the umm...graffiti font as dhias mentioned. Other than that, this is so great I'm about to cr T_T +fav

Wow! This looks great you did an excellent job on converting it to a nighttime picture. I really love the city background its very well done, great perspective. There isn't much to critique in this wall um in fact the only thing that bothers me is the text it just does not seem to fit very well and the 2 fonts are differ to much. Overall this is a really well done wall and I might end up using it for my desktop xD Keep it up! +fav
This is really nice. Really considering putting it on my desktop too. The only problem with it is that the starfield seems really boring compared to the hustle and bustle of the city beneath it. But then again, it does give me a place to put my icons. Good job.
This is excellent. Got a real city feeling to it. Feels like when I was on the hill on San Fransico. I think you captured the beauty that I saw that day in your wall.
The only bones I have to pick is the stars and the "Night Life in the City" font. Kinda unatural to see that many stars with the city in full lights. The font you us kinda stick out there.
Other than those things. I love this wall.
This is a great wallpaper! It's nice and clear and it gives you a great feeling of being in the city! (Obviously...^_^)
I really love it! Nice work! XD
Nice. i like the refreshing, jovial mood of da wall. the contrasting effect of the busy, lighted city with the clear starry sky is really breathtaking. great! personally, i would like a more punkkie font, coz it sort of go with the character's outfit. i would like to see the alternations later (if there's 1), this wall can be even greater!? but now it is already great enough 4 me. peace! fav!
Well, this is really well composed. The whole thing looks great, the city you've added suits the characters really well. Lovely sky aswell, not too overbearing but has enough detail. Lovely. :)
This is such a new and different wallpaper that u've ever seen
and thats good keke sumthing new
i lik the bg you did and the scan fits very well with your bg ^^

I really love what you did with the scan. I have Robot Vol. 1 and may I say that you certainly brought a different look to the original scan. The background is also quite astonishing the image and the background fit quite well. The colors are very vivid and clear as well. I love Range Murata's work and you definitely added something extra to it.
Love this wallpaper. The perspective and the character's posing is all..wow. And the black background is the perfect compliment to all the bright colours
