This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Please full view. And yay...my first widescreen wallpaper! ^_^ I didn't think I 'd submit another wallpaper so soon, but an idea bunny bit me and wouldn't let go until I finished it.
To be honest, this is a been-there-done-that wall. The idea of using silhouettes for wallpaper isn't original anymore. But I wanted to try it out nonetheless. The two figures featured in the wallpaper are the young Hitachiin twins, Hikaru and Kaoru of Ouran High School Host Club. This wallpaper reflects on their solitary childhood. The twins, before meeting Tamaki, were reluctant to open up to other people except themselves. According to Kaoru, for the twins everything has been either "our world" or "everything outside of our world".

Nothing too strenuous is involved in this wall. The wooden bench was vectored, along with the twins based on this screencap:
I would’ve loved to give the twins more details of their hair...but since their hair are flat…oh well.
The lone dead tree is to enhance the lonely atmosphere around the twins. It was a bit of a pain in the rear to create the tree because I don't have a tablet to draw. So it's partially vectored, and partially brushwork for the branches. It's not perfect, but I tried my best. The clouds and sky were done using brushes and then repeatedly smudged. I then painted some colours on it.
I'm aware that the wallpaper is a little bare, but that's the whole point. I imagine the twin's world as a wide but empty and desolate place, with just the two of them together. The emphasis of the wall is the sky. The sky has various colours, we just can't see them. ^_^ I hope to have captured it in this wall. Oh and the twins are actually wearing winter clothes...so the season can be assumed as autumn or a snowless winter. Lol. It took me around 6-8 hours in 2 days to complete the wall.
The brushes used can be found at DeviantArt. Special thanks to my friend Cam for the inspiration, and to those who have helped.
It's too bad, I can't see the twins.. Since I really do love them.. XD
But this wallpaper does show us their reluctant to socialize with others.. Great wall! XD
Very nice!!
I would like to be in this picture really is beautiful, the sky is perfect, tree shadows colors is a perfect image to dream and not wanting to return to reality.
good job^.^

The solitary nature of the Hitachiin twins was well reflected with the silhouette idea, and I loved the colorful sky. Excellent balance overall, but I wish the title was in larger print and moved towards the top left corner. Otherwise, virtually perfect.
Looks like my new wall for Autumn.
