This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I'm a HUGE Eureka Seven fan and have wanted to make a wallpaper themed on it for a long time; never knew what to do though.
I'm a sig tag maker, and use digital scrapbooking elements in my work. When I was cleaning up some files earlier, this simple idea came to me. Drew a quick sketch together on my notepad I keep handy on my desk and then spent the next several hours piecing all these things together. (Followed by several other wallpaper ideas for more of my favorite animes; will work on them some other time)
5 of the petals contains a picture of a special couple:
Sakuya & Norb
Talho & Holland
Eureka & Renton
Domonic & Anemone
Charles & Ray
(Was never so glad to be a picture/scan packrat then I was earlier; only had to go in search of ONE couple lol)
As far as color scheme, I chose a combination of Eureka's and Talho's.
I'm open to ideas or suggestions anyone may have. Thanks for looking!
The thick lines kinda a jag, so try to improve them some way. I agree too with the user above, the scan indeed need some cleaning. About the bg, I think you might wanna add some smooth sensation to fit the wall. Also, the fonts in one of the petals look nice in such a way but they are kinda crowded so you might as well adjust them a bit. keep it up...=_____=
Really nice! i like the concept!
but yeah the scan and outer lines need some work!
other than that it great!
looking forward to see it in the gallery!*:)
What's the best way/suggestion of cleaning the scans? I've never actually done much work with scans. I usually use tubes/renders; things already extracted from the backgrounds and cleaned.
