This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Oh im so happy that im finally finished my wall. ^^ This wall is a remake of the My Will ending for Inuyasha. Honestly the first time I saw this ending I fell in love with the Ferris wheel part of it. Its so pretty, I wish I could go to such a place one day.*tear* XD So basically everything on this wall was made by me (except for one texture I used on the big sphere buildings). Everything was made from scratch ppl!! (the only vectored part is the buildings in the bg (with the lights). It was basically me with very tiny screenshots. So there was a lot of mental break downs, physical break downs, and many “Im not good enoughz”. XDDDDDD Also the sky, grass, and bushes were painted. < 3 sky painting.. >_<’’ So I started out by making the ferris wheel , it was annoying cuz I changed the design of it half way through the walling process, but im happy with the final design that I chose. All the screenshots that I had had a different ferris wheel light design. So I combined the two that I like the best. ^^ The ferris wheel really did require a lot of straight and similar lines and stuff to make, so I was working on it for quite some time. ^^’’ The buildings (the small ones) weren’t too hard to make, itz just that they have many windows and stuff, but it wasn’t too bad. The sphere buildings are one of the things that I had my mental break downs off of.. XD omg.. picking the right shades to make it look cylindrical was a bi***! loL! The lighting was generally very easy, it was kinda hard making the street light type things on the grassy island, and the red lights on the cylinder buildings. But in the end I got it. ^^ Also, its very weird but the shadows on the screenshot for the street lights were wrong! zomg! loL! so I changed them. So that’s basically it (trying to keep this short, I know how much you guyz hate long descriptions XDDD)
SPOILER (click to view)
Also I really urge you to do this.. get off your comfy spinny comp chairz and look at my wall from afar, it looks so pretty when you look at it as a whole ^^ loL!
Special thanks to `Deto15 and `k1ru for their awesome tips! ^^
You wish you could go to such a place one day? So do I. Perhaps the next time I dream I will visit such a place, because that’s what this wallpaper reminds me of. A dream. A wonderful yet delicate dream.
This wallpaper has enough earthly structure to firmly ground the scene in reality, but at the same time the colors palette is so rich and the contrast from light to dark so abrupt that the whole setting seems somehow surreal. And the blue wire mesh look of the buildings in the back only adds to this effect.
I love how the river unnaturally glows blue in the pale light and how the sad green horizon sky fades into darkness. But my favorite part is easily the neon glows of the Ferris wheel that light up the night sky like rainbow colored moonbeam spokes. So beautiful.
Everything about this wall is hypnotic, soothing and pleasing to the senses. It lulls you into glee and serenity. Splendidly done.
I love the ferris wheel (then I'm home I will do as you said and get up from my chair to look at it from afar). I totally love the lights on it. The background is awesome, I would never have the patience to vector all these buildings. Great work!
The hole wall gives me a really calm feeling by looking at it. You really made my day, you know. I'm in a very bad mood but by looking at your wall my day is much better now and the dark clouds around my head are gone.
I think I will use this one at my dektop at work. I can't use anime wallpapers but you can look at this (a none anime friend like my boss, don't know if he even know about anime) and you don't know that's from Inu Yasha. I've always loved this ending sequence and the song is so lovely.
10 days? Wow! O:
Beautiful wallpaper, I love its warm atmosphere. (It's night time, I know xD;)
The glowing lights are too blurry though. You could try adding small dots and lower their opacity. >_<
Hehe... there are a few oddities in your wall ...lol
hmmmm... the atmosphere looks god though... calm and pleasant.
hehe... i'll tell you about the oddities later.....nice work with the glow on the ferris wheel..thats the most attractive part of the wallpaper.;

Nice wallpaper This wallpaper really does remind me of the ending on Inuyasha. I like the way the lights on the ferris wheel look. Its great that you made this wallpaper from scratch. The ferris wheel really stands out to me on this wallpaper. I really like this wallpaper. Great job and keep up the good work. Keep those Inuyasha wallpapers coming.
I think you qualify for the longest wallpaper description ever =P That description must have taken you at least half an hour to write xD
A few pointers: A lot of the wall seems to have been slightly blurred, but the buildings behind the ferris wheel haven't. So it looks kinds strange for everything in the foreground to be slightly blurred, and the buildings in the distance to be sharp, when it should be the other way around. Also, the lights on the bottom island seem to be randomly placed, since some of them are around the edges and one is randomly in the center of the grass o_o
But overall, this wall is really nice :) The sky is gorgeous, and the ferris wheel looks superb. There's a real sense of magic in this wall, and that's what makes it so good. You're getting used to the scenic aspects now, so now all that's left is for you to perfect the technical aspects of walling ^^ Nice work.
Beautiful! It's such a pretty scene and you've done an excellent job into turning it into a nice wallpaper. I love the simplicity of the idea and the fact that it looks complex. The colors are perfect for this scene and the lights are done well. Awesome work!
I very nice wall. The instant I saw it it brought back memories of the very first time I watched Inuyasha. Probably my favorite ending (If not my favorite scenes in the entire series.) You deserve every comment and fav you get.
The seats on the ferris wheel suddenly switch direction at the bottom/middle. You probably didn't mean for that to happen. :P Otherwise really nice job, I especially like what you did with the silos.
