This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Great, now im going psycho... it may be possible ive been spending a few hours searching for a scan that i think i saw but truly never existed... it was all in my head =.=;
This was initially a wallpaper for the W.A.R contest but as of late I've been debating whether the "infatuation" theme in this piece is evident. The characters expressions were supposed to highlight the mood of the room. The room itself is a bold and daring red accented with strong oranges and yellows. The room itself should be putting forth a warm and strong feeling, somewhat like infatuation. It is the room that reflects the feeling, as opposed to the characters. I thought this might be a bit of an obscure idea and decided on a different wallpaper instead.
But I did spend ages and hours on this one.
There are 4 Range Murata scans used in this piece:
The wall hangings: One and Two.
The remaining subjects in the room were mostly stock images plus a couple googled ones(the anime mags).
The table, walls, incense were all made from scratch.
It was actually really fun to make this wallpaper even though at times it was completely tedious to do the small things like try and keep the shadows all proper.
I threw some green plants in so that there was just a splash of cool coloring in the piece. I hope you like it! Im starting to like these kind of walls. :D So defined!
Comments and Favs really appreciated. Critique would be awesome. :D Thanks!
Ok this is just plain cool I love the funky room the pictures on the wall everything is so cool looking.I've never seen or ever heard of this anime but I love this wall the compostion is great the way the stuff is in the room just fits together.Right down to the bowl on the table everything is perfect I can tell you worked hard and this must have taken you a long time.Wonderful and beautiful job.A+ and a FAV!! (*^_^*)
I feel like I am looking at a picture from Architectural Digest or something. All of the lements in the room just go well together. It has a very retro 70's feel to it. I think my favorite part of this wall are the wall lights. Excellent work Sunira.
Wow this has the most awesome environment ever! I like how you made a whole living room for this walls itâ??s so cool. Not to mention its Range Murata one of my favorite artist. A couple of critiques I have would be, the texture on the trees doesnâ??t look very good, the brick is a bit to red and on the small side, lastly the paintings in the back have pixilation try blurring it a bit maybe? Anyway, I love the concept of it all way to go!
Man. how do people make indoor walls. great freaken job on the bricks and the coffee table. with some megazines (nice touch). everything about this wall is nice.
This wall really stood out to me. I love what you did with the table, incense and the brick wall. Although the quality of it doesn't really match the original scan quality so it stands out a bit. But other than that, wow.
Nice concept on this one, and it turns out looking cool too :)
few complaints would be,.. first, the table looks too fake compared to the chair that they sit in..
Secondly, I do not really understand why the incense is there, and it looks out of place to in terms of texture and all..
Love the carpet, thought the trees could be improved,... overall, this looks kakkoi ;) great job on this one
First of all, I like the idea of it.
The colors and characters do successfully portray your intended meaning.
I like how you did the walls and magazines too=)
This is really good, and i can only imagine how much time and effort you put into it.
It's definately going on my favourites list.
I'm loving this. The room looks great, I love all the red, it reminds me of a really retro club and in turn, that idea really goes well with the images you've chosen. The wall hangings are a really nice idea, the whole composition is great, honestly. I have no scruples with this, nicely done. :)
OMG, I have to fave this wall!! >____<
Totally! You used 4 Range Murata scans : o Whoa,,
