This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
The background is a picture I took while on vacation and I think it turned out pretty good. The concept is Kamui ready for the final battle. Since this would mean a possible end of many things, I decided that a sunset scene would be the most appropriate scene to use since, this is how I interpret it in art. So, while I was searching for a suitable stock photo I remembered that I had taken some photos I could use. And this one was exactly what I was looking for [talk about luck :D].
The clouds and planet are there to add a more dramatic feeling to the wall.
That's all!

Awesome. Though i usually don't like walls where reality and anime is mixed, you have done a great job! The sunset looks extremely dramatic as does Kamui. Good Job. Keep it up.
I can see you used the right effects on the picture. Especially the waves. That's really great. However, I would suggest to blend Kamui a bit more.
I still love the waves.

Ah nice sunset, and i like the waves too. Everything looks good as it is. I just think i would prefer the text somewhere under the moon, because it looks kinda empty there. Anyway great job. ^_^
WOW the background is SO gorgeous! The lighting on the waves is amazing!
I love the atmosphere you created in this wall and the silhouette fits the wall great. :)

WOW! This is such a lovely wallpaper. I really love the water, it looks so great, as does everything else in the wall. It does look ominous, and fits the series very well! Nice job! +fav

Who is this? This is me. Who am I? What am I? What am I? What am I?
I am I. This object that is, is myself. That which forms me. This is the self that can be seen, and yet this is not like that which is myself. A strange feeling. My body feels as if it is melting. I can no longer see myself... my form, my shape fades from view. Awareness dawns of someone who is not me. Who is here? There? Beyond me, here. Shinji. This person I know. Major Katsuragi. Dr. Akagi. People, my classmates. The pilot of Unit Two. Commander Ikari. Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?"
Great job!
