This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Phew! Finally finished this wall. I actually did most of the work earlier in the summer for a challenge on PV, but due to a tight schedule I ran out of time, and couldn't finish it until now. So, here it is!
Used this scan:
As you can see, I edited it a LOT. Added tons of layers to get that 'vectoring' feel to it, cleaned the scan, added gradients, then painted the skin portions and the background. It took a lot of patience and trial-and-error, but I think I got the hang of things in the end. :p
Oh wow...
The first words out of my mouth when I saw this wall on the homepage. It's been too long since I've last seen a RK wallpaper, but your wall has made the wait definitely worth it. This really depicts the love between Kenshin and Kaoru very well. Really love what you did with the background. Absolutely LOVE the texture.
This is definitely an instant favorite for me. Thanks for the hard work! It's much appreciated!
Amazing. Simply amazing. Rurouni Kenshin is my favorite anime of all time, and I really relate to Kaoru, and I think you did an amazing job of capturing a truly romantic moment.
Great job on this wonderful wallpaper. I really like the painting look you've created. The background is also well done and compliments the main image seamlessly.
I so love it,this totally is appropriate to what I ma hearing now...classical music.I don't know but I can breathe the romanticism from it.I love the details in her kimono,I love the texture, the shades, really impressive work!
Yeah!! Good job with all the details and the background! The effort you put in the scan is great and it turned out in an amazing way ^^
Very good wall!
Holy cow! The colors and vectory feeling make what was already a decent-looking image into something completely phenomenal. I love the colors and the lighting. Fantastic work.
