This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I saw this scan of byakuya on one bleach site, went crazy trying 2 find which part of the manga it was from.
and found that it was when he was protecting rukia!
so heres the tribute.
i vectored or at least i tried (i think) and coloured the scan from b&w for the 1st time. i hope its fine :).
btw he is on the executional ground. the one where they were gonna kill rukia.
and just in case it is not clear.
the crack in the sky is by the menos grande whos come 2 save aizen.
ルキアはおれが守る. was actually the title i wanted to give. 'rukia ha ore ga mamoru' but i stuck with the english version.
For me the vector looks really nice. The coloring also.
The blood isn't working that well though... I don't know why but it makes me feel like you splattered blood on a window just on top of it so it looks like it could be on him... But not really. If you have some blood in the shading of the vector, it should be darker too.
The background is pretty good looking but for me the sky is way too real looking. Painting some clouds or using some brush sky could have worked better cause right now it looks like you took a stock picture as a sky... :-s
Hey... If the crack comes from a menos, why not add some of it fingers? :D
The ground outlines are really strong. What about making them dark brown instead of black? Just a suggestion though :)

Just like the other person said. The blood isn't working too well on him, not that it looks bad, but it just doesn't fit it or too much of it. Still a great wallpaper, well done.

Nice effect and colouration for this character! I like it so much!^_^ Byakuya is so cool with that pose and what amazing background!! I like the hola that make the effects like if it's appearing a Menos Grande!
The expression on the face of Byakuya really good and he still seem to be cool although he is bleeding. The background of the wall quite dull and empty so i would like to suggest that it is filled with more effect to lighten it up. The blood splash on the Byakuya's shirt really great. Overall it a good wall.
I really like the shot, and the saying really fits. Plus with the garganta in the background, makes it look like Byakuya really wants to protect Rukia. The shot of Byakuya makes it also look like he is trying too protect her.
As the blood on his clothes makes it pretty dang cool paper. In short a very good wallpapers. I added it to my fav.
Love the expression on Byakuya's face. Perhaps there's a bit too much blood though and it kind'a takes away from what's happening somewhat.
And on a little side note, if you're gonna reveal something about an anime/manga, it might be nice to give a spoiler notice before the spoiling text. I'm only up to episode 52, but now I know what's gonna happen with Byakuya.
Anyway, great vector work. Can't wait to see what you do next.
