This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Hisoka standing alone in a beach (?)
I watched a couple of episodes of Yami No Matsuei a very long time ago. I stopped watching it because I don't really like yaoi material. So don't expect me to make a yaoi scene even though this is wall for a yaoi-ish show.
Anyway, I made this for FMN activity #2. YNM is a forgotten category so I guess that's for the general rule. As for specific theme, well I guess it's the emo theme. I've always wanted to make a wall with a character standing facing nothing but the the blue sky. It made me feel relaxed and it gave me a sense of freedom from any kind of limitations. Sorry for the rambling, I'm not good at describing emotions.
Made with PS 7.0. The character is vectored and colored base on this scan. Credits go to Selinya. Used a lot of smudging on the sky and the water.
Total time to make is 2 days. I lag a lot.
A lot of people don't like the text so I decided to submit the testless version. The one with the text is here. Any suggestions on how to fix the text? It didn't blend well, I know...
Whoa! I was wodnering why I recognize that person because he was Hisoka and I really did loved that part in the manga. :o This is very schoking. No one has ever made new wallpaper for Yami no Matsuei for a long time I think and this is the best one. The scenery was done lovely and you've captured this scenery here. Everything just went perfectly. Masterpiece I'd say and this is something you barely see. Flawless to my eyes! ^^

Finally a good YnM wall that comes in my laptop resolution. =D I wish it was Muraki standing there instead of Hisoka though. Muraki is so hot, and he'll look lovely there. *___*

Beautiful work, I've always loved this image of Hisoka and because you've kept the background the same (it being ocean and clouds) but enhanced the quality it heightens the dreamlike tranquility of the image. Most definately a fave!
For a work with one primary color it's executed very well. The subtle changes in hue of the blue throughout the work gives it an air of realism. Overall the color is very balanced and pleasing.

The sky is nice, anytime someone makes a wallpaper with a clear blue sky with some clouds is always nice. The peacefulness, I like it ^_^
