This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I'm kind of behind everyone else around here, everyone else in the CO posted up their 'music' contest entires a while back, but I'm just doing it now.
Anyway, a lot of people in our group ended up walling Haruhi Suzumiya, but each one ended up a little differently. Mine went for more of a light-effect kind of thing, trying to capture the effect of looking up at a stage during a live rock concert. Lots of layering, shadowing, gradient masks, and the like went into making this one, and I'm happy how it all turned out.
I have to say man, this is one of my favorites of yours. I like the lighting and colors. Is that a manual lens flare? It looks better than the default ones. My only beef is with that stereo box on top of the speakers. It looks a bit too boxy and the edges look like they could cut someone. D: A fav from me!

I really like the subtle speaker background you used, as the main focus is on Haruhi and (I forgot her name xD). But I think the bloom and HDR on the right side is a bit too bright. Hurts the eyes a bit (I have a calibrated LCD).
Overall though, great color through the bloom and HDR.

Being a "hardcore" Haruhi fan i gota say this is some good work, good effects on the left, the amps esecialy, however the lighting is too bright, you have to focus too hard to see their faces clearly. as an average overview, its good, but like i said, a but dimmer to the left. Oh, and if you can, throw Yuki on the guirtar in on the left?
The effects look great - just like everything else I've seen. However, I don't get the "rock stage" feel from the lightning - it looks more like sunlight too me, and thus the scene doesn't play out.
It is a nice wallpaper, except that the background and the characters are a bit too blurry, and it is a bit too bright in the background
But it is still a very nicely done wallpaper, it could also improve if you added some more characters, it would make it look more like a rock band and gives a better impression

I wonder why is everytime people created suzumiya haruhi wallpapers they must use this scan. i mean every wallpapers of hers she will be holding a guitar. why dont make a change? back to the wallpaper..i think its beautiful..love the color and the sunset mood in this wallpaper.overall=beautiful! just cliche

I find the wallpaper interesting. I love the light effects. Brings me back to how Haruhi is suppose to be God or something. Im loving the effects, really. The wall erally captures the moment in the anime. Good on ya Red!
