Well, because i like to do this scan a long time ago ( click here)... between other projects that i like to accomplished...
This maybe if you can see it's a little simple in background, but a lot of work doing the vector... (maybe *and most probably* you didn't like to know about the process...).
Well, this wall is made actually using more illustrator than photoshop, that's why i can modify anything when i like to do that... :D and the only thing that i do in photoshop is the blending modes and the blurring...
and why I'm motivated in doing this type of wall's?
because i didn't feel to do a common wall of the common scans of the common series that everybody loves... i try to do unknown characters or characters that are in manga or games that are not yet in anime... like the my following one: One Shoot Shoujo Manga Lineart
Wow. I can tell a lot of work went into transforming the scan into a beautiful vector. The colours are well chosen and nicely harmonized. I am not particularly fond of the font (or just the light effect behind it). I think it'd be cool if you could have flower petals fall on the font or something (just to relate to the pretty pattern on her kimono).

Beautiful! I love her bright and juicy colors with the black and white background! And the way she stands at the side is so good for icons (even though I don't have much lol)! You've used a lovely scan (I think she looks quite unique)~ The only suggestion I have is that I think her ruffles should be outlined in a lighter color so that her face can grab more attention. I really like your vectoring, and I am anxious to see how your new wallpaper will be! I fave!
