This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
So after more than a year of not reading anything Bleach, I caught up with about a 100 chapters of the manga and I am completely up to date! Didn't take long, because Bleach isn't exactly dialogue heavy XD
I have to admit, this wasn't an image I would normally use, mostly because it was cut off on the arm and would have to lead to a side oriented design. In fact, I really haven't done a wallpaper without a complete image (or an image I could restore) in ages. And... I think it shows ~_~
Anyhow, smoky, nighttime and sands fits the Hueco Mundo look, which hopefully you can tell I was going for. All the background stuff was made based on the screen shots and spreads in the manga, and from there I colored it in a style that I felt would match the scan.
Topped it off with a scan texture by Dioma to give it a rougher look, else it would have a glossy finish :D
Ahh, and I could have first comment
Anyway, what I was trying to write before:
That's my new desktop, I totally love all parts of that wall
btw, what scan did you used? o.o
Wow!
This wall is just amazing!
And the texture goes very well with the wall! :)
And I like the colors too!
Don't know what else too say...It's just awesome!
Instant fav!
Added to Favorites, outstanding job on this wall! The colors work so well together it's crazy. The green of his eye's contrasting with the dark blue background makes it just pop.
Amazing work!
It all looks so good together, because his clothes are floating and all that sand in the air really gives that windy feeling :) As for the background being hueco mundo I can't think of a better place for him to be.
You totally made my day!
Here I was thinking that I really should buy this calendar (where this pic comes from) and you make a wallpaper just from my favorite picture!
Instantly my new desktop background and I don't think I'm changing it any soon
Keep up all your good work

For some reason it seems like my comment I made 3 hours ago didn't get through. Oh well. I'll just say again that this is really well done and I like how the sand effects give a nice sense of depth. Great job! +fav
Like how you added the breeze of the sand making the wall stand out instead of making it a plain desert night and all that good stuff. The choice of coloring fits everything well especially the dark mysterious character. Very smooth and nicely done. =)
Hwoah that is a nice vector! love the textures you used on him ^_^ i'm not sure about the background, something doesn't appeal to me ^_^" but don't take my word for it! i still love the vector xD great job ^_^
