This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

It's been so gosh darn long since I've done this @_@
I actually can't remember the last time I finished a Wallpaper!
So I guess a bit about the wallpaper. I found the scan a while back when I first started watching Gurren Lagann and at the time I really didn't have any ideas for it. After finishing the last episode, I suddenly had this urge to turn it into something. This is the result of that mission~
I don't quite know where the idea came from, but the position that she's in appears to me like she's falling from somewhere, hence the wings - which I've had mixed feelings for. Part of my likes them there as it seems to close the gap between being too empty and too full, whereas the other part of me thinks wings have nothing to do with Yoko. I guess it's for the general public to decide!
Overall, I had a really really good time making the wall, it's something I've wanted to achieve for such a long time, but due to a busy full time schedule - I never really had the chance. Hopefully I'll make more time to produce more walls!
Thanks for any comments - both good or bad, I shall take them in and hopefully improve for next time!
Hey I like this. The color's nice, and the wing actually fit the image. Was it on the scan or you just put it up. If it wasn't then, you've done a good job. I just don't think texturing the background is a really good idea. I think it's better if you just left it clean. Fav+

@Wakaba - Yknow, I never actually even thought about leaving the background clean. I always imagined Yoko with a blended background - but I will definetely try it out when I get home tonight and upload it to my server~ Thanks for the idea!
@Bordsduk - I know what you mean with the image. I always had in mind that it may be a "little" too provocative, but I just thought the way her body flowed was just so... gorgeous and I had to do something about it! xD
