This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Man, I'm glad I came to this site, what a fantastic scan of Yuki this is! (Credit to motogp for the scan!)

This wall is another experiment that I decided to try out, using a combination of brushes that I had in the past as well as a new set that I just found today. It's a bit of an odd combination, maybe, but I think that it might have really come together when I blended the brushes into the stock as well. I've been having a lot of trouble with the background and the stock looking united, and I think I finally found a way to make the two work together.

So many thanks to whangel's for her help on this wall, her advice really pulled through in the end, and finally got it out of Session Zero as well. Thanks Angel!

Revision: Due to popular demand (haha) I fixed up the scan a bit!

Awesome background! The scan of Yuki feels messy, maybe a tad more cleaning will do the trick. Overall, nice nice!

Nice background... i really like it but the light within the left hand of Yuki up to her head is kinda weird for me... and the scan of Yuki is absolutely beautiful but again... its sort of blurry... do really make it blurry? anyway, this wallpaper is quite good so congrats for it ^_^

YAY!! Thanks for using my scan and making a great wallpaper...I love the colours of the background..blue looks great..The brushes you used are cool and they make the background look great..Nice job and keep the good work..This wallpaper looks great thats why i am gonna add it to my faves..Keep it up

Great wallpaper!

The scan of Yuki doesn't seem to totally blend, but it doesn't really subtract that much from the overall finished product. The background is really good! I like the colors and shapes you used, it has a really good look. Plus, any wall of Yuki is automatically awesome =P

Don't listen to the above, text = evil and can totally ruin a good wall. This is great just as it is. Great usage of blues (which goes perfectly with Yuki) and everything just looks solid. Great work.

You need more comments on this fantastic wall. You've caught the moment, you know. Also, you've chosen fitting color theme and the a bit abstract background is perfect as an opposite to the "real" character.
Simply, I like it very much.

Awesome congrats on getting this in(i commented on it in the session 0 but i dont know if you knoticed)

anyway i started watching haruhi a few days and i got hooked and yuki became my favorite character very quickly so im glad to see this great wall of her

Good character wall if one is looking one. I don't like how the shadow works because there doesn't seem to be a clear light source (because the background is just a background), so I feel that her face is too dark. Otherwise, initial impression were good.

Splendid! I love the blue background you did there with all those effects! It's simply lovely! It gives this "rocking" feeling especially the camera angle on Yuki. It really fits well the both. It may be simple as in there's not much really but, remember that is very hard to make the background and the character fit together. Anyways Keep up the great work!
