This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Look, it's all dark.
Yay, I love dark wall. Combined with that blue green-ish color give it a nicer feel. Spike looks cool just standing there in the middle xD
Um i stalker no. 3??
i think there's a lot more texture to the wall than to the scan
and the whole mood is different from the scan
which is quite a significance if you ask me.
Hmmm that's weird chaos...
did you intend the scan to look like that on th bg? because what i see in my comp is this square slab (your scan) floating on a black BG...it doesn't blend and doesn't look seamless. maybe your monitor's too dark and you didnt notice? and the texture is too thick on his face it makes his face look pixelated =\ and maybe some text work so people won't ask what's the difference between this and your scan...or add those glowing butterflies from the movie
what i like in the wall is it's greenish mysterious tint :'D

I'd have to agree with you. I think he took the scan, and completely ruined it. The entire thing looks pixelated. On top of that, I've seen this scan with the butterflies in, and graffiti on the walls, and it looked a hundred times better. That isn't to say that noone else should bother trying to top what has already been done, but this doesn't come close.
I like the colors here, it's a good contrast with the black. Yes, the edge of the scan shows, but i'm thinking it probably wasnt intentional. Alsom maybe if the texture was toned down a bit, it would be nice, but i personally dont mind it.
Rude would be acting like it's the best wallpaper ever made, and not pointing out any of it's flaws. As someone had just pointed them out in-depth directly above my post, I felt that giving my opinion of it (notice how it says "Your Opinion") was enough, instead of going into detail that had already been given.
I'm a believer in creative criticism, and rudeness has nothing to do with it. If a revision comes out of that criticism, then it was worth it.

that isn't creative criticism, that is noob stupidity
so, talk back when you have at least 1 wall, CK has 29 and at least 2 of them have the highest rating that this site has to give.
if you are going to leech, at least leech on silent, and spare us of noobish comments
Of course this wall has its flaws. just thinking the author of the L!ghtspeed does one wall like this... im disappointed of course.
However if this was made correctly and with more time, this wall could prove itself by being a good piece of art.
So basically you agree with me, but since I don't create wallpapers based on anime, my opinion is less important. Makes sense, glad we cleared that up.
Other than what tatekane mentioned, there isn't anything else to fault this wallpaper for. Glad to know that you agree with me though.
Thanks for the wallpapers ChaosKaiser, keep at it.
I'll have to agree with the black "box" around the scan, but I'll attribute that to your monitor. I often come across the same problem when working on my TFT and later doing finishing touches on my laptop. Maybe next time, before publishing, try looking at it with different levels of brightness and gamma - or even better a second monitor.
Other than that, I really love the greenish tint; I've seen other walls made of this scan and most of them use a bluish color theme; the green is a fresh idea and does give it a nice mysterious feel.
As the previous commenter said: with a bit of work, this might make a pretty amazing wall, so don't give up on it yet;)
I have to agree in some points with the other posters.
The texture is really a bit thick and should be toned down a bit.
I also like the green shine on the wall. It gives a special feeling and impression of the wall.
Other than that I have also to agree that this wall could use some work.
Don't get me wrong: I'm far away from the places you reached with your walls but I think I could just tell my opinion about your work.
I don't really like the thick black sites of the wall, I really think you could add something to spice it more up. Mmmmh, I'm actually wondering about what tAtEkAnE said before. I can't see the this black box around the scan. Maybe my monitor is also too dark.
Some last words about the discussion here with sammy:
You can always tell your opinion but next time I suggest to think more about what you want to write before you did it. Can you imagine how you would feel by such a rude comment on one of your walls?! You can always say such things in a more nicer way.
People are talking about respect, rudeness and beig a noob here i see...well for starters noone has the right to comment about someone's comment here. If you wanna give answers to people just use the guestbook. They are 'pure opinions' as long as they don't involve harrasment which i can't see any here. People know that i am kinda out of business these days and i am not even commenting the walls but this is it. I am writing these here coz i am frustrated kinda...
What is this exactly? a wall...a scan...a work in progress? tate already mentioned many of the things as flaws of this as a wall i think anyways. Excuse me but I can't see this as a wall to be honest; this is just insult. This is actually an insult to the wallers who are trying to improve the community's quality and working hard on their walls to make em look good. They are seriously working hard on walls whether if they are vector works or not. And in wall description I see that this one took 2 hours...must be a joke or something coz this won't even take 20 minutes to accomplish. Even a Phostosop noobie can understand that i think. Pasting a scan on a black background with a few filters or textures doesn't cut it. I always thought AP has improved quality and selection methods submission wise; but it seems i was very very wrong. If a developer can post something like this what should we expect from the rookie wallers then i ask you?
Anyways; i am done here. Grtz on making me actually write something like this after all these months.
Now let's see... Quite a controversial wall I should say.
All in all, I agree with everything tate has said. As for the box thingy, I totally understand it. Making dark walls in dark screens is a pain in the neck, because you have to make sure that everyone sees it right... What we used to do in our old screen is use a white layer set to Soft Light to see if the dark stuff looks good enough.
