This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I've always loved Okama's art ever since I found out he designed the characters for Gunbuster 2. I liked their style, so I just went on to find more of his work. The character isn't from Cloth Road, but I though it was a fitting name for the wallpaper because I made a road of sorts from the cloth the girl is wearing.
I wanted to make a background based entirely on what the girl was wearing, and really make it work as a wallpaper. You can see from the original scan where I re-drew elements from her dress and combined them into the background. Suffice it to say, everything in the background is somewhere on her kimono garb.
Turned out kind of colorful and fun but not really suited for the 16:10 aspect ^^; That's what happens when I'm not really thinking "wallpaper" when I start XD
Great colours..I love the nice colours in the wallpaper and the scan is also very well blended..Other than that the lightning on the moon looks great..its an awesome wallpaper ^_^ keep up the good work!..
Nice to see someone finally made use of all them new okama scans. great work by the way. i really like the back ground. almost looks like paper on top of each other. well, thanks for sharing.
Lovely espression on her face.. also the colors... are bautifull its dark and colorful at the same time... nice wall really... just the kimonos girl get lost in th Bg...
O soo oriental yet eccentric ^_^ i love the colours and the flowers. and okama art really does rock xD. She's wearing such a beautiful dress.
critically, the paper texture is a bit too strong on the right side ^_^" and your moon looks outside of the wall LOL sounds wierd i know ^_^" unless its intentional?
but nevermind me! great job xD

Oh man this wall is so beautiful. Ive been waiting for some okamarble ladies to be made into walls and now I finally have one. I love everything about it, the background is lovely and fits perfectly. The moon is also an especially nice touch. I hope we can see some more okama walls from you in the future beacuse Im not sure they'll be nothing short of spectacular.
Okama's art is just too cute and this scan makes no exception.
I tried to make a wall with it long time ago but I got stucked on the background.
Allow me to say that your background really fits the scan, everything, from the colors
to the design, is just perfect.
My only complain is about the textures: they're nice but they looks a bit out of place to me.
Maybe they're just a bit too strong...
Holy- yeah. I really love Okama's artwork, and when reworked by a magician like you it just turns out gorrrrrgeously. The bg perfectly matches the character you used; I really, really like the bottom-left hand flowers especially. Great job :D
As usual amazing work :3 I love what you've done with the original scan and background. And as always another favorite from me and this will be my current desktop as well. ^^
