This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I've always loved Okama's art ever since I found out he designed the characters for Gunbuster 2. I liked their style, so I just went on to find more of his work. The character isn't from Cloth Road, but I though it was a fitting name for the wallpaper because I made a road of sorts from the cloth the girl is wearing.
I wanted to make a background based entirely on what the girl was wearing, and really make it work as a wallpaper. You can see from the original scan where I re-drew elements from her dress and combined them into the background. Suffice it to say, everything in the background is somewhere on her kimono garb.
Turned out kind of colorful and fun but not really suited for the 16:10 aspect ^^; That's what happens when I'm not really thinking "wallpaper" when I start XD
A very creative wall indeed. The background is beautiful, you did a great job drawing the flowers, hills, etc. to match to kimono! Overall flow and color is well balanced and pleasant. I esp. love those green/red flowers in the front X3. Great job!
It looks awesome when full viewed.
love the repeated elements from her kimono.
I don't like the moon (or planet or that ball anyway) but it cant ruin the greatness of this wall.
fav.
WOW! it's work like this that always amazes me how all of you folks here can do such awesome work and are so creative and artistic. Buddha bless you all i just love coming here and just be in awe flipping through great wallies ^.^
Amazing work, keep it up.
Good picture, but I think that the author can change something in the wallpaper!
because of the person wearing kimono, she's looking very nice, but the kimono and the background of wallpaper is basically same, it's hard to emphasis the person on the wallpaper!
however, the wallpaper is very nice!!
Wow amazing i love it :D
i like how you make the background because its fit together with the scan and i really love it and like it ;D i like the textures you used and sweet wallpaper

I was checking this one out at Ningen. I really like the effects and textures you used, to create the faded and aged look, it really sells the wall. The background is great, it seemingly blends perfectly with the character image. Great job, I'll have to add it to my favorites!
Yay! Okama wall.
How elegant it all look together. I love all the flower pattern. They're so pretty.
The background you used really fit the character. I especially love the flower in the bottom left corner.
That is one of the most gorgeous background I've seen that matches so beautifully with the original image. I love the colours, and the surreal landscape you've created from the pattern on the girl's kimono.
Such creativity and patience to do all that =D Awesome work!
