As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!
You know when you want to do two things at the same time but accedentally mixing them up? I just wanted to drink my cellphone and put my cup of tea to my ear -_-"
I've started digging into my archive of old walls never submitted for one reason or another, and this one caught my attention. I had completed the vector for it well over a year ago but never had an idea for a background, and the eyes really bugged me.
So a couple months back I came up with the pop art idea, and completed it but something still bugged me... SO ... I revectored parts of the hair and eyes using techniques that I recently have been using more. The skin tones are very light as the style of scan had some rather washed out tones for skin and clothing, yet Karin's hair is very vibrant, so I used the washed out tones to create contrast with the more vibrant pop art elements.
Overall this was one of the more enjoyable vectors I did in the past (taking over 30 hours, with the revisions)
I hope you all enjoy this wall, and your comments are wanted/appreciated.
This is somehow refreshing
i wouldnt use it as a wall, but i like it
the hair is great
and the display of a massively ebarrassed chick with vampiric teeth sure is a scream
on the other hand, i dont particularly like the pinky shades used on her elbows and most of all, i find the fingers wrong
they seem too thick and too short to me - missing one segment id say
good work either way
Wewt Chibi-Vampire! There just aren't enough Chibi-Vampire walls
Anywhoo, I love the vector work on this, and the pop art idea is a good take on it. I can't get over that hair dood
You also did a good job at capturing the character's in their quirky entirety as well. Some would probably say the background is too simple, but I disagree. I think there is enough content in the wall that it is successful. I look for functionality as well as great design in a wallpaper too, and I think this wall pulls off both.
Great design and I can make out my desktop icons, whats not to like?
Ah a fresh new feel to this place. I've actually seen something like this almost ala Suzumiya like. But none-the-less Karin was one of my favourite series even if it didn't get much hype. +Fav
Nice..I like the title and the background which is made from the two main scans itself is also very nice...Other than that scan is also nice and the background colors are good..Pretty well done keep up the good work
I love this wallpaper. It's simple but quite eye-catching. And I think it captures the whole feel of Karin very well - save for the gratuitous nose bleeding of course.
Not much Karin walls are out here.
I like the way they look. KariN's head size is a bit weird compared to her body but iT's just the scan.
apart from that I wouldn't use because of the vivid purple behind her already strong coloured hair but I still like this piece a lot.
glad to see you around.

I love Karin! I think it looks very nice. Good vector job, I like the liberties you took, while some do look a bit funky, like Karins eyes for some reason. Still, very good job.

I am not really a fan of pop-art walls, but this caught my attention. You did a good job vectoring the characters, especially with the shading. I love how you were able to give a shy feel in this wall. The shy look of the girl is really cute, plus the vampire attributes. Great job!
AWESOMENESS...

It's Nice Wallpaper.
Two Starrings' Faces in Shame are Really Reallly Funny and Comic.
Why Their Faces are Red? To Hide Their Identity? Or To Hide Their Hearts?
Changing Colors with Wonderful Composition in the Background are Very Interesting. I Think They are Well-Match for Their Unstable Situation.
She is Ironic Vampire. I Like Her.
Thanks for Your Good Work.
