So, I watched Vampire Princess Miyu the other day with Evol.
It's his favorite anime, so I wanted to make him a wallpaper for it. Unfortunately, he doesn't really care much for this wallpaper. Then again, outside the reCG, neither do I.
The idea was to have Larva be taking Miyu away from the "real world" and into that red vampire dream world she is always shown in. I don't think it really came across too well, but I couldn't for the life of me think of what to do with the scan after I spent two days reCGing it. So, here it is.
This wall was made with a cintiq. All the trees (yes, all of them) are completely hand drawn, as were all the effects excluding the grunging it up.
As always, I'm open to suggestions, but since I'm not fond of this wall in the first place. the chances of me going back to it are pretty slim.
As you may have noticed, I don't go to userpages to thank each person who comments on my walls or favs them. Just know i appreciate any constructive comments you give, and want to smack those of you who leave "i love it" or "i hate it" comments.

Overall, good idea, and the things i mentioned can be fixed easily :3 although you said that there is a small chance your going to go back xD lol

It would be nice to see the effects from the left side carried onto the right side as well if even just a hint. ^_^ The text looks good - I like the fire-like thing behind it.

Ok, so without using the phrases "i like it" or "i love it" i am going to say that the best feautures of the wallpaper are a. placing the characters in the middle ( i always thought that this act would be challenging as most wallpapers do not have characters in the middle cause the result usually sucks XD) b. the scary trees (since you painted them i am very fond of them, they look pretty creepy but alive at the same time - if you get what i mean).
What i think should be improved: Somehow...i find the text too big, or something like that but yet i am not good with using the text, i never was so i leave this thing to the pros^^
(i haven't anything about the grungy look, cause i know it is a skill that you either master...or don't have it at all. And yeah, you have it...so i won't say a thing XD)

hmmm...i think the weakest part of this wall is most definitely miyu's face...the bangs are awkward and not very graceful.
also i would go a bit wilder on the red side...i like the retro look and feel you have here...maybe if you don't wanna over do the red side add some russian art inspired gold magic symbols coming from larva's hands...wisking miyu away...
please to make it better cause i lovvveee where it could go!

The venue is good, really nice.
The colors are good also.
The background textures look really good and it fits perfectly with the scan of the ghostly figure and the girl.
I think maybe the tree trunk shoiuld be a bit lighter so that it merges better with the scan? That way the girl wouldn't stand out so much >_<!
Anyway, I heart this wall! Love the texture style! The style of the trees is intersting too XD!

Hehe, I like the two sides the wall portrays and how everything fits together. Gonna fave it even though you don't like it so much. What else can I say about good composition in a crazy variety of resolutions? Maybe just... Thank you ^^.

I haven't seen this anime yet, so I wouldn't know if the trees have any significance. The trees are alright I guess, but it does seem a tad rough on the edges. I like how you depicted the dark and light side of things, especially the left side, since it seems very menacing with the shapes of the trees and etc.
