I promised my best friend to fulfill his request of an Optimus Prime wallpaper before the end of the year so here it is! I haven’t seen the movie yet and I’m not much of a “Transformers” fan but hey, I guess this can be dedicated to all the fanboys out there! XD
The inspiration for this wallpaper comes straight from one of the official poster. However, it would have been boring if I tried to reproduce the exact same background so I choose to stylize it my way. I didn’t come up with the silhouette concept right from the start: I was playing with the original picture, trying to figure out a good method to blend it well in the background when the idea hit me. Since I ditched the planet details for the background, why wouldn’t I do the same with Optimus Prime?
My goal was to make this picture epic because hey, it’s Optimus Prime afterall! For that matter, I only worked with lights and shadows. And of course, the light had to bear shades of blue (blue = nice guys; red = bad guys). The sunlight was created using a rounded shape with several layers of outer and inner glow. I then added a radial glow behind the silhouette to make it blend and interact with the background. To wrap this up, I just had to use the famous quote “My name is Optimus Prime” as a title with the official “Transformers” font I textured. In the end, I’m really glad of the final result: it looks wicked!

I'm a Transformers fan and I've got to say, IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!
Maybe some would critizice that it is very simple or not too much of a "real" work, but using different pictures to create a wall, and adding your personal touch and make it really "epic".
Also the detail of the quote and using the actual font from the original poster makes it almost as if it was the actual poster for the movie.
Great work, certainly a fav! XD

You might have wanted to work on it a bit longer, but I love the idea. Especially the quote is great, perhaps try to flesh it out a little bit more if you make another one.
Excellent wall! I like the combination of light and shadows you used for this wall. Someone could say that it is very simple, but I really like it because no one did it before with this subject.

REALLY COOL!
I really like when simples works are so good, cause you realized you don't need to do thousand things to make a great wall. I'm a fan of transformers and you made an awesome job...
Wow, Im liking your version better, sure we don't get to see Optimus in all his mechanical glory, but I think the whole aura effect works, the whole mystery feeling.
Me like. The fact you went for classical blue was also a nice touch. Very appealing.
WICKED COOL! I'm a total fan-girl myself and I can't resist this wall. Its so Optimus! I loved the movie by the way. Rented it twice. Now, I need to buy it! But great job on this wall! I'm glad your friend asked you to make it! KEEP UP THE AWSOME WORK!

This wallpaper looks great. The color combination looks awesome. You could work with it a little more to get it to look better. Still one of my favorites. :D
