This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I like the composition of the background although i have to agree, im not a big fan of the swirly things either [hope i didnt offend you ] i like the spakled look s its all good the colours look lovely and i like how everything seems so magical great wall ^^
Such a creative wallpaper... I like it.
The scenary, the green, the details on the wall... Everything is working together, everything is resulting properly.
I would point two little things, however - 1st, in a so wide wallpaper, there was more than enough space to show all the wings; 2nd, the text "Haibane Reinmei" is not very well placed and coordinated with the rest of the composition, it claims too much attention - a better fusion with result nicer.
Anyway, congratulations.
Great work; an original idea for Haibane Renmei, and it goes just far enough outside the box to be good I think, being almost vaguely reminiscent of Reki's past
Yay, Rakka's my favourite anime character next to Lain ^^ sad that you don't see as many wallpapers of those two... either way, I like the feel, even if it's something you wouldn't expect with Rakka, it works real well as a background.
Katekyo hitman reborn wallpaper i see, the series sure seem to be up and in-series right know and i guess i'm like only one from people i know who isn't familiar with it xD
your vectoring skills sure seem to be improving by every piece, i see much less little sharp edged squary like on the lining which really makes the vectoring look more clean and professional ~ keep up going girl!you did great work re-drewing the scan too. really like the composition of the wallpaper ~ the brigde and water are split the wall and they fill the areas nicely but still don't make the concept look separated. the character is nicely placed in the middle of the wallpaper and it brought out to bee seen which makes it easy to focus on him and the background supports it well. paper air planes are nice add and really give unique feeling ~ the sakura petals you first thought would have been quite usual on the walls these days so it wouldn't have been so special and the way the plains has special meaning with the manga is nothing but big plus that way the theme and atmosphere gets more meaning and filling. on the perspective the water looks bit too upward compared to the position of the character sitting on the bridge, but i think it's mostly because of the wave around the big yellow plain ~ if it would be more like a ellipse, it maybe would go better along the perspective. reflection of clouds and the movement of the water are nicely captured, gives nicely liveliness for the atmosphere since the character seems quite moody or thingking something serious. colouring is smootly done and tones go well with each other but then again it's somehow gloomy or how i would say lacking of brighteness ^^; hope i don't offent you ~ i apologize!maybe if you would have added bit more thick shadowing it would have bring the forms out better and not looking so flat and that way it would have more colour variety so the light tones would have get brighter. but then again, if you wanted bit serious atmosphere, this concept work well for it you have done nice job as you always do and sure shows the effort you have put in it ~ thank you for sharing it finally with us ^u^

Seems to be quite a different view of Haibane Renmei... but I can't say that I don't like it!
You gave Rakka some more self assurance and a spark of mystery - at least from my point of view. :)
So... I definitely like your wallpaper! Thank you.

My favourite hobby:
Hei! There's a sad lack of CLAYMORE, MUSHISHI and MONSTER walls in AP!
AbsolutelySugarFree: Insennity^
the text style is so cool, & the background is well made..
Nice work!
also a plus for widescreen =D
You must present something of equal value in order to gain something.
That is the principle of equivalent trade in alchemy.
We believed that was the truth of the world when we were young.
