This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
It's finished ^_^ It's a bit late... (Okay, it's very late) but I finished it anyway. I started working on this October 2007 when my computer suddenly go tilt and refuse to start up. So that's why it's called "A Late Autumn" haha.
Anyway the wall itself is 90% vectored from this scan by Saikusa. Okay so I got a little obsessed with flower and leaves. I promise I'll make something not flowery next time... It's just the scan is so pretty...
I say 90% vectored. I keep some of the original scan especially the part of the clothes and set it on very low opacity soft light and put it over the vector layer. Hope that's not a bad idea because Nao Tukiji's scan has painted look and I don't want it to go away. The background is made from nothing. I can't download any stock or textures so it's lot's of layers of cloud filter, paintbrushing, default textures, and color adjustments. I tried to use bolder and darker colors this time, hope that's not a bad idea either. I gave Ta-Chan the magenta/purple with plain gray background. She thinks I should have uploaded that one instead, but the only problem is that version doesn't exist in my computer anymore. The hard disk got this little accident and everything got erased.
Please tell me what you think about it. Comments and favs are appreciated.

I love it. The colors are very autumn, and your vector is nice. The only thing that I would have done differently is that the little sliver of background that shows through the hair (in between the arm and the piece of cloth blowing), I would have made that little section the blue color of her dress. That's just me! Other than that, I really like it. Fav!

The 90% vectored and the 10% not vectored it very well blend. I love the color in the background. It's a warm color, which feels nice since it's winter right now. Oh, and the scan is gorgeous.
i think it's beautiful! i would have like to have seen maybe a little bit more of his "painting" come through-but other than that i love it. good job!!

My mom was actually looking for a wallpaper for her laptop and is not a big fan of anime. However, when I showed her this site, and she saw yours, she remarked that it was beautiful and the one she wanted. Somewhat of a tangent, but yeah; we both think you did a lovely job. :)

The color you chose for the background perfectly matched with the beautiful girl and the theme, leaving an Asian accent. I can feel "a late autumn" from the wallpaper too, though the title means a bit different than I thought first(real meaning is you finished this wallpaer late, right?). That was funny actually, haha. The only thing I want to say about this wallpaper is maybe from next time you can put some objects or scene of the season for the background to emphasize and give the image of more Asian taste and autumn accent. For example, shrine or mountains with red leaves if you can. But anyway, I like this wallpaper very much, it is very beautiful.
