I've been into the colour brown lately. It give me the very elegant and tranquil feeling. If you look closely in the background, there are mountains and there's grass too! o.o The main theme of this wallpaper was soft grunge since the picture of alvis is really gentle as well. Enjoy!
Hmmm can't believe i've never seen your site before, there's some pretty nice walls over there. Anyways, i'm really digging the aged and stained look, overall the it's a nice wall. I do have 2 small suggestions though, the text seems abit out of place, it's too clean as opposed to the rest of the faded/aged look of the wall; also alvis seems to be on a totally different layer than the background and she doesn't quite blend in right for some reason.
Bee-yoo-tii-ful! The background captures the feeling of sadness! Although it looks more like "very old paper" than "falling rain"-kind of effect. But still, I deem this "desktop-worthy".
Comment on the wallpaper not the character in the wallpaper, please. It isn't going to help the waller much with comments like "Good wall" and "I like this". Be honest with your critiques instead of sugar-coating everything.
Anyways, the scan in this wallpaper could have been extracted better. There are some really rough edges around the scan. This wall looks to me like a cut-and-paste thing, mainly due to the rough extraction. She doesn't seem to fit with the background. The rain effect is overdone that it looks like it's done with a filter in Photoshop. Maybe it is. Since she is standing on the ground and it is raining, it would be better if little ripples or at least something that shows that the rain actually falls to the ground. Unless that's just an effect for the "grunge" look you're going for. But either way, it's still overdone. The text is nice but it contrasts too much with the wallpaper. The whole wallpaper has a tan-brownish color going on and the text is white. I hope the thing around her are fireflies or sparks of light of the sort, but it needs more brightness in the center since fireflies or sparks of light are really bright in the center and the color fades out farther away from the center. You did a pretty good job on this wallpaper. Keep up the good work.
Don't know if it's the cuteness or sadness i like best :) but whatever it is, it really makes for a good moody wallpaper... i like it... keep up the good work...
I like the placement of Al to the right and little light spots are a nice touch to balance everything out and bring you over to the title. I would say that it might help to add a few key places of actual white besides the text. I think Al should be the first read then across the lights to the text. To do that, adding a few highlights to her face and hair would immidiately grab your eye. Then maybe lighten a few of those magic spots so they're not all the same value. Finally the blur on the text makes it too difficult to read. Try putting the blur on another layer behind the text and dropping back the opacity. That's my two cents, take it or leave it. Good start though.
I my god thats so sad
but i love such sad scenes...
she looks so alone
the colors are good for the
emotions of the character
i also like the textures and the
rain (is this rain?)
