This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
The first time I like a wallpaper I made! :3
It still has 'bugs' (aka defects), but who cares, it's... better.
This is also the first time I putted real effort - worked during the entire afternoon and beginning of the night. It was tiring!
Re-L is such a beautiful, powerful female character... Then, I always loved so much this image of her that I surely will wall it again.
I wanted Re-L in a dark, dead scenery, not far from that we see in the Anime (outside Romdo).
About 40 layers (I am quite deorganized, must admit).
I used this scan, downloaded from Minitokyo. It was a problematic scan when it comes to extract the character, specially because of the hair - I had to play with the pen tool more seriously, for the 1st time as wellll. :]
The background is made of... a mess!
I used some stocks from here, one photograph taken by me, screen captures (for the city spectrum), an "neon" effect (maybe not very well suceeded, but I wanted something alike in that place). ..
Yay for widescreen resolutions!
The only problem is that my PC is 1024x768, and making wide wallpapers in a small screen is annoying as hell.

This wall could have easily gone overboard the effects, but you did little enough to make it look surreal and not make it look like a mess. The city in the background is especially cool.

The city in the back looks neat...as the whole background does...an awesome job you've done there. However, I've found one thing that bugs me, is the outline of the character supposed to be white ? Perhaps it will look better without it...I don't know

I myself have never seen this anime, but I like the design that was used for it. I love the contrast of the dark gloomy background and here bright sparkley eyes and makeup, very cool indeed.
Wow that is awesome, I love the blue that you added to both the eyes and to the side it just gives it that whoa factor to it. Also the textured added to it makes it look awesome also.
I totally love your wall. The work you did with the stocks and the Re-L image, the text is pretty well integrated and it turned out into a powerful image.
And I love the glowing eyeshadow the most kinda gives the felling that she's a proxy like vince n.n, keep up the good work, because I agree with you Re-L is one of the most amazing characters I have ever seen; and she's very beautiful ^.^b

I've been looking for a good wallpaper of ergo proxy for quite some time now and i'm glad i finally found some awesome work. thanks a lot :). i rlly love it.
yay! i love this wall! It's the best i liked from you so far! the bg really suits her and i like the blue glow around the eyes and at the colour... very electrifying... however, i feel that the blue streak at the top right corner is a bit weird... but the awesomeness of the wall kinda overshadows it...
