This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
My first wall of 2008 and probably the last one
i was doing this since last year, but never got time to finish it till now
i know it looks messy, but thats the way i like it
it supossed that Yuuko-san is kinda goddess of a Nebular Lagoon ^_^'
the plants are like colonies of lil creatures living there (kinda weird planets ne)
flowers are like passive supernovas (dont mind it, its stupid)
those weird eels are like the Nebula guardians (theyre pets in other words)
first time i do a watery wall, the difficult part were those mountains on the leafs
and first and last time (i hope) i do a widescreen wall
scan i used was one of aethereality
outlines: illustrator cs2
color: photoshop cs2
nevermind the # of layers...
Special thanks to Sutendoji for all the cheers even if he didnt mind ^_^'

I love it! First of all Yuuko is the perfect character to be a mermaid, cause of the luring of sailors to their doom ^.- She rulz! It's very creative and imaginative, the concept is a breath of fresh air. Two thumbs up!
Very nice :D i love the colors and the idea for the background. my only negative comment is that her ears don't look like that they look like normal human ones ;)
Looks great!
I love the idea, it's amazing. The vectoring is also wonderful.
As the previous comment, I also think that her ear looks funny.
Overall, nice one
I like the unique pattern you got going on this wallpaper. It looks very original. The character is very nice looking too. This is really great! I'd love to see more of your work popping up around here!
Well the plants sure look like floating islands. The water looks like water in the right bottom but like air in the right top, and if that's what you were looking to make then good. I would have rather it looked like real water.
There's a bit of smoke that look out of place, it looks like it's a different type of painting technique while as the other stuff look like paint on silk.
Nice wall
The scales on yuko look really nice.
and so are the plants.
you make such water effects,it almost
looks like a painting.
the fin doesn't fit well with the body.
although i would give a lot of credit for
the bubbles they make the picture look shiny.
are those snakes next to her?
It's Nice Wallpaper.
The Heroine is not only Beautiful but also Mysterious. Ironic Atmosphere is always Her Attractive Point.
Curved Lines Drawing the Scene are Splendid and Delicate. They Have Their Own Individuality in the Parts and Well-Match for One Another. Especially Lines of Her Dress are Most Impressive. Aesthetics of Asian Dress in Them is Really Really Beautiful and Charming.
Blue and Purple Colors in the Water are Wonderful and Graceful. They are Harmonized with Another Colors in This Wallpaper. They Make Her Own Feelings and Atmosphere be More Smooth and Natural.
Thanks for Your Good Work.
