This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Finally finished.
This is probably the most ecchi wall you will ever see form me, so enjoy.
I started this vector a long time ago. Really, just after the scan was posted in the gallery. It was another one that I shoved on my external HD, and rediscovered when I was cleaning it off. With some urging from Cy, I decided to finish it. The whole concept was based off of the Greek goddess, Nyx. She is the goddess of the night, and is basically the opposite of Apollo (I love mythology). So I had the idea of Ringo bringing the night. I vectored her from the scan, and colored her in. The pattern on her obi is from some origami paper i scanned in, and the pattern on her kimono was made by me. Since it was just a manga scan, I had to do all the lighting from my head. Good thing I find that fun.
Anyways, I haven't read the manga of air gear, but I've been buying and watching the anime. It's cute, but nothing amazing. Also, too many boobs for my liking. I have no problem with ecchi when it's used in good taste or is funny (like So Long, r. Despair) but Air gear ecchi is pointless -_-
anyways, comments and critiques welcome.
Hopefully this redeems me from my last failure, annex!
First of all let me say that Air Gear manga is 100 times better than the anime.
They both share a massive of useless ecchi but the manga is less "childish" than the anime.
Give it a try ;)
The wall is really beautiful.
My favorite part would be the contrast between the sunset sky and her dark blue yukata.
The vector work is nice but not as good as in your other walls, if I have to say the truth ^_^''
I can see many (small!) imperfections specially with the coloring...
Maybe you were in a hurry ?
Aside of that, I really love the background and the patterns you used.

I really like the texture for the obi. and how you put the lights on her.
however, I think the birds need different color, they just seem a bit un-blended with the background.
I do think the grass is great, but I personally like if the color is saturated a bit more.
um, I think the texture on the background has something wrong.
on the center, right to the text, between three birds. and also on the most right side of the wall, just above the leaves.
well, that's just a small bugs.
I love the concept of this wallpaper, totally. There's only two things that bother me a tiny bit:
- the birds (crows, I suppose? Since it's Air Gear...), are too black. They could have been coloured with a dark brown to make them blend better colourwise, in my opinion.
- That yellow used for the sunset part feels a bit "in your face". I know you wanted to create a clear contrast between the two areas, but maybe a less strong yellow (or rather, having a little more colour variation on the sunset area) would make it feel a bit better while still maintaining the contrast between day/night.
And that's it. Awesome wallpaper in any case, even the concept alone is worth more than just a favorite. :)

I'm really impressed with this wallpaper, I can tell you put an insane amount of time into the work with the re-cg, it looks great! The fabric patterns and stars blend really well together, and the BG matches the theme perfectly.

The textures on the sky are good and work really nice with the concept of the wall.
I think some parts of the wall are a bit to dark but this can be because of my monitor on work.
One thing seems not so right for me: the birds are looking a bit jaggie for me.
All in one this wall is one of the best I've seen since some time. I really love the concept and the scenery you created. I'd never watched/read this show but it looks really interesting.
Btw, pantsu is really unusual for you but hey, you really surprised us with this.
Wow! This has always been a favourite scene for me, but I never dreamt it could be set against such a richly colourful background! The colours are inviting & warm, and the effects are pure eye-candy. This is unbelievably beautiful!
