This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I began making this wall earlier, it took me probably about 4ish hours, I didn't keep track. I decided to leave the left side empty for icons. I made this wall for my boyfriend because he likes L a lot. I think Death note is a really interesting anime and I will probably make more wallpapers of it upcoming. I hope everyone likes it and feedback is appreciated on what to do next time I create a wall in case something looks odd.
Edit: I took the advice and tried to fix L up a little bit and added some more brushes in the background extending out. Lemme know how the revision looks.
I love the bg. It's so cool! I agree that L looks a bit out of place though! I can't say "you should've vectored him" like the others did because I've never done a vector before...and I don't know if you have either?? [it's not the easiest thing in the world] I would suggest some different color overlays or different effects instead on L. You could've duplicated his layer, overlayed it, and blurred the top layer. That might have made it look better. ^_^ But still, good job!

Good idea leaving the left edge for icons, for Windows Vista users, the right side would also be useful if you have your sidebar gadgets there. Stil love the idea!
I luh luh love this. The colors, the way it all blends so well. It's simple, yet not boring. I really like this wallpaper. It went on my computer immediately.

User Comments!
I really liked the effects you used around L.
One thing though, L doesn't look good. It would be better if he was vectored and recolored.
Love the work still tho.:)
but its still a decent wall

He is one of my favorite characters.
If your wondering what to do next, You could do a wall of L sipping coffee infront of a shocked Kira =D
